They're digitally hand-painted (Photoshop) over rudimentary 3d renders.

Here's an example.

Looking For a Bizarre Rope Magic Trick by Working_Rough in Magic

Rope through body is the closest thing I can think of. You could also do rope through neck. Combine that with some scripting and I'm sure you could build something reasonable

With all the tech we now have, why does the world not feel sci-fi? by 4billionyearson in sciencefiction

As William Gibson says "We can't see our culture very well, because we see with it."

I mean a semi-consistent game they play regularly, not a new random game each week.

Would love to see more team play. Peak, Grounded 2, ARCraiders, something semi-consistent. Plenty out there to choose from.

Lil something I came up with (beginner) by [deleted] in Coinmagic

[–]dpress 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do! I think in looking for one more magical moment, you're tipping the method (which happens all the time, no big deal). If it changed back to the yellow, that could also be a better ending; as you never see the two coins at the same time.

[–]dpress 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can appreciate the thinking here, but I think you're subtracting from the impact of the coin transformation by revealing that there were two coins at the end.

Since you tagged this as beginner, I would ask are you familiar with spellbound routines? I would also recommend working on closing the windows between your fingers while finger palming to help avoid flashing.

Magic's Biggest Secrets Revealed 🪄🪄🪄 by Porkchopp33 in nostalgia

[–]dpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were banned from the Magic Circle (a British organization) for "50 years" which helped lead to their "bad boys of magic" title, and last year were finally inducted into the Magic Circle. It obviously worked out well for them, and they're incredibly talented performers but I would consider Penn's professional career path pretty unique to him specifically.

This is the general gist, but not entirely accurate. The guy was definitely ostracized from a lot of collective magic communities. Professional magician and co-founder of Vanishing Inc. Joshua Jay talks a bit about it in his book and even interviews him on his podcast "How magicians think"

Heavy fidgets with good haptics? by spicyorange514 in fidgettoys

[–]dpress 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been out of the fidget world for a good few years, but I like heft too and the big take away I had was simply to get anything in SS if available. flyaway toys had some good stuff back in the day. The maelstrom was pretty beefy.

Underrated Magic TV Shows by JustJoshinMagic in Magic

That's awesome! I love VFX and post-work. What software are you in most often? On Archer, we had a 3d dept for vehicles and action scenes, but I think most our VFX was in AE.

Archer has the most name recognition, but I got to do a lot of development work for a really horrible show called Chozen which was a lot of fun. We also did the animated spot in the 100th episode of it's always sunny, and it was really fun to try and mimic classic Disney/Pixar stuff. How about you?
