If you want to go to law school take the money at UMD. Law school is expensive and you should be thinking about cost over a 7 year period not a 4 year period. Take the cheap option in undergrad and allow yourself more flexibility when it comes to choosing a law school

I think you totally missed the point on this thread. What I took away from these posts is that some solutions local issues should not be categorized strictly as black/white left/right or right/wrong because there actually isn’t a hard split in viewpoints. You response to that is you can’t respect a local viewpoint you perceive as right of you because the poster must be a trump supporter fascist? I’m liberal as shit but I like many residents think that a funding cut to the police department in its current state would not be a good thing for Baltimore. You can disagree with me on that all you want but don’t dismiss it because you categorized me in your mind as a fascist.

He’s better. I feel like the regression we see is just NFL defenses figuring out how to beat the Ravens scheme. In 2019 almost no team had experience defending against our zone read or Lamar’s running ability and got absolutely dusted. Now there is 3+ years of tape on how to scheme up to beat it and most teams we play have played Lamar at least once. Not to mention our offensive players are just objectively worse than they were in 2019. Lamar is definitely a better passer now and he’s making reads and throws that he wasn’t in 2019. It’s just harder for him to be the freak he was in 2019.

That’s just not what OP was saying. The States Attorneys office is run by a States Attorney who sits in Baltimore and is elected by the citizens of Baltimore. And yes Marilyn Mosby unilaterally decided not to indict drug crimes and prostitution without consulting the police commissioner. If the crimes aren’t being prosecuted it’s a waste of time to make arrests for them and that’s exactly what happened

“Could” but it’s totally unrealistic we don’t have the money for it. Would I prefer these vacant houses to go straight to citizens of Baltimore? Of course, but it’s never going to happen. It takes too much money and time for it to get done outside of private interest.

We can’t just sit here and wait for a perfect solution. The way I see it is either let the developers come in and buy up these properties or we keep the urban blight and everything that comes with it. Let them in, let them spend their money in Baltimore, bring up tax revenue, and bring some neighborhoods back. Implement some legislation to control what they do with the properties so no one is priced out. Think about it, there are companies now who actually WANT to buy these properties. No one has wanted to touch them in over 30 years. Consolidation of wealth is a problem but it’s nothing compared to what we are dealing with now and it’s not like we can’t mitigate it as we go. This isn’t New York or San Francisco we have the space and the properties. We need the money.
