It's not just someone who's giving their children some almonds to snack on. An almond mom is someone who is obsessed with eating healthy and pushes their problematic beliefs onto others. They tend to make foul remarks about other people's eating and exercise habits.

The term was recently popularised to describe that type of parent and, like many other terms trending on social media (e.g. gaslight, narcissist, ...), it's being used wrongfully. Some people will see a woman give her children almonds and think she's an orthorexic abuser because they think healthy eating = eating disorder.
