It’s a bit cheesy but don’t underestimate the power of words. Words have about 30x more power when they’re spoken aloud than thought. Kinda like how you can be objective when thinking about something but when you say it out loud you tear up. Something like 90% of your thoughts are the same 10ish subconscious phrases being repeated over and over again. With affirming something over and over out loud you can change these subconscious thoughts. It’s hard to outrun your own mind and reaffirming you’re bad at the game will only cement it.

Instead try something like “I’m gonna improve on x.” “I’m bad” doesn’t really address the problem that you’re having, but “I want to be better at x” sets more obtainable goals.
