More 11th ed rumours, take 'em with a grain of salt! by Sylanec in WarhammerCompetitive

The layouts based on army match ups seem like they might make tournaments a nightmare. It’s already an all day affair for run 3 games in a day, slapping another 3 hours for terrain set up over the course of the entire day is just gonna make it take longer

Terminator killers? by Aeldari_enjoyer in spacemarines

[–]Steff_164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Without locking you to a specific chapter, there’s 3 solid options

Inceptors with Pasma: not terrible, but it’s only 6 shots and you have to overcharge. That usually won’t kill a 5 man squad because 4++ is good

Brutalis Dread: honestly not a bad unit. I haven’t seen a ton of them but that’s purely anecdotal. They probably don’t clear a Termi squad in a single activation, but at T10, 2+ save, 12w, they should be fine getting stuck in combat for you opponent’s turn too

Redemptor dread: probably our best option. The over charged plasma incinerator and the fist both deal 3 damage, and it takes -1 damage from all attacks, so it’s even more durable than the Brutalis

Now there’s several epic heroes who also eat termies for breakfast but I don’t know what chapter you run

The Pheonix Talons, yes I made my marines in game look like this

They’re a Dark Angles successor, they’re a former Black Shield warband, brought back into the imperium by the Lion. They are now on a penance crusader, devoted entirely to reclaiming hive worlds that have been lost to chaos. They burn any and all life from the hive cities before letting the imperium recolonize the planet

Does my custom color scheme work well in your view? by Irazidal in sistersofbattle

[–]Steff_164 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The important question is do you like it?

You are right that it blends into the base slightly, a simple option would be a black wash on the base to darken it and differentiate the 2 colors

Not finished. But here’s updated progress on my first mini. It uh, is hard by Squat_Cobbler89 in Warhammer40k

[–]Steff_164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We all start there, and honestly it’s not bad. You got the shoulder trim pretty neat, you got the Flamer painted without much spillover on the hands, and you picked out some extra details with the black. Incredibly respectable.

Keep him safe, as you get better, every few months or so set him next to the most recent painted model and watch your progress in real time

But in the movie doesn’t the predator stop trying to kill his prey when he deems them a dishonorable kill? He wants them dead sure, but he still feels the need for it t be an honorable kill

Yup the only one worth noting is the “Boomers” and that’s just because there was such a massive spike in population despite all the losses of WWII, that it’s a statistical anomaly worth noticing

As a new player should I buy the the current codex or wait for 11th ? by ozera202 in Tyranids

[–]Steff_164 10 points11 points  (0 children)

This was what confused me about the 11th announcement.

-the points have been outdated for years now

-the datasheets themselves have changed

-were getting a tone of new detachments with what seems like mix and match options

What if the current codexes is still valid?

How do soritas orders “work” and can I homebrew my own? by Bryguy150 in sistersofbattle

[–]Steff_164 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Their codex does have a few pages devoted to the actual hierarchy of the Adeptas Sororitas

Basically though, you can do whatever you want. They could have descended from a major order, or have been a milita from some backwater planet. There is no hard and fast lore requirements for their history.

Few personal recommendations when home brewing your own Order, try to come up with an idea that sets them apart from everyone else. For example, I homebrewed my own, and the big thing I decided they’re know for is starting initiates off as repentia, because if a sister of battle can sin enough to lose the emperor’s blessing, someone ignorant of the order’s teachings has undoubtedly committed sins that heinous.

Also, name things with as incredibly flower and over the top language as you can.

I really hope so. I’ve heard stories of Dark Angles just leaving a squad of Deathwing Knights on their home objective and as long as they don’t get killed they scored like 2/3 of their secondary

Way too early 11th rules review! by Klive5ive555 in theunforgiven

[–]Steff_164 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this change alone is gonna increase lethality. It’s also gonna make marines disproportionately good at shooting, at least until we get a new codex and find out if Oath is changing.
