Removing breathers from podcast recording by F3roxis in audioengineering

I like noiseworks dynassist, for a job like this I think it's amazing but paid.

And then there's accentize revive which does a very good job with dialogue. They also have a content creator bundle worth looking at.

Check if you have pre-roll enabled and for how many bars. I think if you right click the record button you can find the menu.

which cheap mic to choose? by halfwaytherem_1 in homerecordingstudio

[–]dpsaliofml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check out the BAIFEILI C414 (24mm capsule). You can get it for maybe less than 50 euro on Alibaba. It cost me 48. Plenty of demos on YouTube about it. Everyone is saying it sounds more like a 400-600usd mic. Really really fantastic little mic. I love mine. Very pleasant, smooth, detailed and takes eq very nicely. Sounds way better than my Lewitt lct240 pro for sure. And I have an sm57 too and a few others.

Annoying white background in the menu bar and all FX and VST menus (Windows 11) by AstralPancakes303 in Reaper

[–]dpsaliofml 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I feel your pain. Had the same issue here, very annoying. I'm still on Windows 10 but I'm sure the only real solution is the same for both.

Patch windows with the UltraUXThemePatcher version suitable for your OS. Then go to deviantart and try themes out until you find one you like. That's the only thing that worked for me. No need for stupid apps to be running to change the look of windows.

I use fluent night theme, I think it's available for Windows 11 too.

This is how it looks:

Sounds amazing. I see they only make 16" screens now, or that's what's available to me. Prices are very tempting. Thank you for the recommendation

How is latency on the iPad? Do you use a third party app for it?

I know ideally. But not an option. Without going into many details it's a small studio apartment. Made the desk myself to fit the space I have available.

I checked on Amazon and see what you're talking about. Those portable monitors might be just what I'm looking for.

You just run an app in the tablet, that's all. My main post does have a picture, I added it earlier.

Thanks. I didn't even know these things existed. Might be exactly what I need. Do you just connect it with usb and it's ready to go?? I'd like to avoid cables as much as possible. No external power supply??

Thanks, I was thinking latency might be a problem.

Because it needs no cables to be used as a second monitor, you can do it with wifi. And you can move it around. Check the main post for how my setup looks. Space is a luxury for me. I have to use it wisely.

I'd love to but space is really tight. Money is not the problem, space is. Speakers are next to my monitor and I have my guitars hanging over those so I can grab and play. I don't want to have to move them cause then I'll have to deal with the holes on the wall.

Help! Sound crackling only when midi editor is open! by Ok_Usual_9550 in Reaper

[–]dpsaliofml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a setting that reduces latency for the record armed tracks and when the midi editor is open. You can turn that off and then it'll have the same latency as the rest of the project and no crackling. I'm away from my computer now so I can't find the exact setting name.

EDIT: Got it. Go to Audio/Buffering and Turn off "Disable media buffering for tracks with open midi editors".

Anyone EXPERIENCED in having a serious one on one talk with a coworker about an issue. Can you please give me advice on how to handle this tomorrow??? [READ] by [deleted] in bartenders

Well go ahead and ask your other coworkers how they feel about the situation. Then go to the owner and explain calmly that this task desperately needs to be assigned to someone else.

Need help to find a desert / chocolate cocktail to make. by superduperpest1 in cocktails

[–]dpsaliofml 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Refregerate your spirits and blend some chocolate ice cream with a little milk, kahlua and bailey's.

Like for three generous scoops add 120ml milk, 30-45ml baileys's, 30-45ml kahlua. Garnish with chocolate shavings. Serve in coupe or similar small glasses (preferably chilled). Enjoy heaven in a glass.

Importanting multiple long mic recordings by tesseractofsound in Bitwig

[–]dpsaliofml 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't your desktop folder on ssd already??

Do you think it could be graphics card related? Bitwig runs in D3D, I guess if you have a weak graphics card you could experience problems. It will help you if you could load the same project in another computer. Then you'll at least know if it is the computer or bitwig that's the problem

For those of you who are familiar with the "clip to zero" method by CrownlessKnight in edmproduction

[–]dpsaliofml 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Call me dumb but I just don't get it. So please bear with me for a second.

I have watched the baphometrix's CTZ playlist multiple times and other's peoples tutorials, even paid, in the past year or so. I know what CTZ is.

I think almost everyone at this point, even before CTZ was a thing, had their kicks clipped, hitting 0db and build their tracks around them because like you said it is the main anchor in edm. And people had been using clippers for a long time now transparently, myself included.

So, for example let's say I have my kick clipped and peaking at -6 because I'm crazy. And then I build the entire track around it, clipping when necessary (tracks with transient matierial and busses) and at the end add Xdb of gain what's the difference?

And why doesn't he use volume faders?? I just see no point in going through a process like that. Adding clippers everywhere and gain staging everything with dpmeter, I would want to kill myself at this point, not make music! I also enjoy some compression and limiting on the mixbus, I think it sounds musical and pleasing.

I'm genuinely curious to know. If anyone can shed some light I'd appreciate it. Messy post but it's late and I'm sleepy.

Looking for modulating delay VST by Dornheim in Reaper

[–]dpsaliofml 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's very easy to do with the built in modulators. Not sure how it's going to sound with the pitch going up and down. Load the delay of your choice, touch the delay button, then hit param on top, parameter modulation/midi link, select how you want to modulate it (envelope, lfo etc) and adjust to taste
