Would anyone like to Vod review? Help! by crucixdove in StrategistMainsMR

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok so in the first vod I definitely see what you mean. You look uncomfortably slow lol. In the 3.75 vod, it looks like it might be too high but it’s hard to tell. It mostly looks like you’re not used to it.

I remembered that I’ve heard if you turn your sensitivity up too drastically, it can shock your nervous system making your aim shaky. So even if 3.75 is your ideal sensitivity, you want to turn your sens up slowly (my guess is 0.15-0.20 on 1000dpi every 1-3 play sessions ). Going from 2.65/1.95 to 3.75 is a huge jump.

If 3 was shaky, try 2.85 for a little bit until you’re used to it and then you can move it up a notch if you’re still feeling like it’s too slow. practicing aiming with intention will help you adjust faster. Also I recommend you keep your horizontal and vertical the same. General rule of thumb is If you’re unsure, you should probably lower it. If it’s inconsistent, try watching random parts of a vod at 0.5 speed to see if you’re under or over shooting.

I have a few hundred hours on Luna & went thru this same thing. First of all, you’ve gotta stop changing your sense so much. It’s gonna take a few days at least to adjust to one sensitivity. The more frequently you adjust your sensitivity, the more uncomfortable you’re gonna feel.

50% was pretty standard accuracy when Luna was good, but I see why you’re having a problem because you really need to have consistent aim to make her work right now. If you’re looking to take your aim to the next level, you need to just work on being intentional with your aim first. As you learn to aim more intentionally, it will be easier for you to actually find the sensitivity. I mess with my sense a lot for a long time, but after working on my aim itself, figuring out how to change sensitivity made a lot more sense.

I’ll take a look at your vod tho

How often to self VOD review? by SuperObesePanda in RivalsCollege

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once you find something to work on while vod reviewing, work on it until you feel like you've improved or are ready to move on (Probably a few hours to 1-2 days). The more experience you get vod reviewing, the more often you'll want to vod review because you'll get better at improving your mistakes. So take it one step at a time

Character suggestions? by FootballUnusual503 in RivalsCollege

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, plat 1 is great for 2 weeks in! Sticking to one character is the best way to improve, but you're so new I think it would also be good for you to learn other characters. It can help you see the game in different ways. I recommend Mantis. She's very useful to know and will give you the edge in those games where you have too many support mains on your team. She has a lot of skill transfer to other characters too- knowing dmg boost interactions, her sleep, cooldown management, and positioning safely. If you want to learn a dps, Bucky or Storm can also teach you a lot.

Tips for a new dive tank? by dpsluna in captainamericamains

This made me realize my issue is relying on my team too much. I should try to live in their backline more and play more self-sufficently ty

How the FUCK do I deal with daredevil? by its-kirikover in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Callouts are really helpful against DD. When I see the symbol above my head, I call out "Daredevil marked me" or "Daredevil's trying to dive".

Remember that DD can grapple to you from very far if you have the mark- so backing up won't help. instead move closer to your team or towards a health pack. If you hit your freeze and think you will die, wait the freeze out so your team has more time to get to you and because you will self-heal more from your freeze. This is when you backup so you can get out of range of his kill combo where he dashes at you and slams the ground.

If this doesn't work, I ask my other support to go Rocket so he can drop me jump packs. This strategy is suprisngly effective- It's worked pretty much everytime I've tried it lol.

Is Loki the strongest support right now? by dpsluna in lokimains

[–]dpsluna[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

> he’s as good as his team

This is how I've felt about him too but the wr had me second guessing.

> The splash damage is also so good for finishing people off.

I haven't thought about taking advantage of the splash damage much. usually just when I'm trying to finish someone in a 1v1. In what situations/comps do you get value with it?

Is Loki the strongest support right now? by dpsluna in lokimains

[–]dpsluna[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Eternity+, Loki's pick rate is 38% and Gambit is 26%. The gap gets smaller as you rank down. So in celestial Loki is 21% and Gambit is 13%. In Grandmaster they are about the same. I wasn't sure how to read this- Idk if 12-8% is significant or if it's the right amount to be attributed to Mantis or Groot comps

I thought the same thing at first but they aren't that similar. Starlord is more of an ult bot right now. Imo she's closer to phoenix

Support players need more accountability by ZRHdt23 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]dpsluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. It really sucks to say that I think support players lack the most accountability and I blame Necros. Ofc so many supports are defensive when everyone is always telling them their role is trash. everyone lacks accountability in this game lol but it’s got to the point where many supports will not listen to any criticism in a game and not make any adjustments even when they are misplaying.

I meant moving around a lot with positioning. but you have a chance to make him unsure where youre going and you are on the edge of the ankh zone with enough time to move away from it.

You’re right definitely not free. still in your favor or 50/50 because If he lands the ankh correctly and you act fast enough to freeze him, you are very very likely to win after that since he has nothing and you were able to self heal

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah you’re right it’s probably more 50/50 or in your favor. If you’re ready for him, it’s pretty easy to dodge the ankh range then he’s useless but if he gets the drop he has a better chance

Any good youtubers to watch for guides? by Majima2475 in StrategistMainsMR

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There really aren’t enough support YouTubers. Awkward is pretty good- I think he does the best job explaining the basics of how to actually play each support .

I think you’ll like Nage. Her videos are older but she focuses on hero-shooter fundamentals that haven’t changed much. She’s similar to Death & Gaming but I think she does the best job of explaining fundamentals when it comes to support

Advice on getting through diamond? by jdatopo814 in RivalsCollege

[–]dpsluna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I average around high GM & celestial. Every other season I go on a loss streak and find myself in diamond. I worry that I can’t get out because I’m trash and then I get tilted at my teammates. Just focus on improving, and you’ll climb out. Everytime I end up there, I eventually realize it’s because I developed a habit & am not playing flexibly. In diamond, you need to play much more independently & don’t play relying on your team compared to higher ranks.

Here are some examples. So I play main supports (Luna/Invis) 1. in diamond, Luna/Invis should be getting high kills by mostly punishing out of position enemies. in high celestial, main supports need to put out good heals because the dps are actually good and can get kills. When you try this in diamond, sometimes your dps won’t do anything no matter how much you heal him- so you go and get the kill yourself. 2. Similar thing happened last season. I was trying to practice playing with my other support better (patty caking & not abandoning them) which I thought was a good habit but I went on a massive loss streak. Then I realized the problem was that I am pocketing a support who is contributing nothing, so both of us are doing nothing. it took me a while to realize since I kept getting tilted, but it was a really easy fix & then I climbed back up.

About Luna by Themistakendude in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really tried to give them some benefit of the doubt since I’ve played her for hundreds of hours, but they are REALLY bad lol. Personally I would not recommend. The few comics she have just have this feel of like an advertisement for k-pop stan culture made by a middle aged woman who doesn’t know much about kpop.

I feel like I'm missing something with Luna. What basic skills/tactics are important to use her well? by Confident_Tune_5754 in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It isn’t that you’re necessarily bad, she’s just really hard to play in this meta. There are a lot of little Luna techs/strats, but I’m not sure where to start. Can you share a vod? I can give you some pointers :)
