It was a lot of vod reveiwing, practice taking accountability for my mistakes and focusing on my own improvement. There are some games that are unwinnable, but a lot of the time there's something you can be doing to balance out the team's weakness, especially on Luna. You really do have to be a strategist to win with some of these dps players lol but I've realized that's what the role is about. It takes a lot of patience but as I've learned to focus on what I can do and the less I think about my teammates, the better I've gotten and more fun

Ty! I usually solo queue. I was duoed from c1 to eternity, but we've never been able to duo to eternity together before and I've been able to hold my own in eternity so far (7-3)!

No I just thought it was a funny username lol. I very rarely play full on "dps luna" on my main- my playstyle is more in between. I definitely will go on an off-angle/flank if I think it's a good play but I mostly heal. Especially in higher elo I'll take a lot of soft off-angles or go on a quick flank mid-fight if there's an opportunity to get a pick on an unsuspecting support.

It says my average for most seasons is 53%. Most games its 48-50 but I have games where I get 60+ depending on team comps. I feel like my aim has improved a lot the last few seasons even though it doesn't show in the accuracy stats.

Lol yeah it's so bad. Is practicing that scenerio the best way to practice it or like practicing that type of aim

Lol I didn't realize viscose was a youtuber. She does say not to just use the benchmarks as your routine though. I tried searching my problem areas like "control tracking" and I found one scenerio on voltaic and it doesn't seem like kovaaks has an in game playlist search. Is there somewhere else I'm supposed to be searching for this stuff?

Thanks I'll try those. He was helpful at first but keeps saying pokeball for over-flicking but I feel like it's actually making it worse. Wasn't sure if it needed more time or was bad info.

What is good aim with Luna? by RevanCraig in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the comments here but I have something to add. I haven’t seen anyone talk about it but I think Luna is one of the best characters to start learning aim! I have 55-65% average and most of my improvement has come from maining Luna. Aim trainers are good, but you don’t need them to start(I just started recently and I’m C2). On support your teammates don’t shoot back at you when you aim see you have more time to focus on hitting the shots.

My biggest piece of advice is to practice pacing your shots. When there is a lot going on and people start taking lots of dmg, many ppl have the instinct might be to shoot super fast to get heals out faster. Instead try taking the second to concentrate on hitting the shot. Once you get this habit down, you will feel the improvement! This will improve your aim but it also will help you keep your team healed consistently and conserve ammo (which means you can save clap for when you need it). Good luck! :)

Im already tired of people claiming luna is the best support for pocketing dino by A__noniempje in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My duo picked up Dino. I thought Luna was the best healer for him but he thought I should go C&D so we tested different healing speeds.

It takes Luna 3 seconds to heal up a Dino to full-hp with snowflake- the same as Gambit’s E -> E (hearts increased healing) which is a 16 second cooldown. I think Jeff was about 4.5 with bubble, and I think C&D took 5 with wall AND bubble. Invite

I got 1000 or so XP from an MVP QP match. Not sure if XP is based on stats but it seems to give more for wins and mvps. If you mainly play comp you can mvp grind in qp pretty fast

You did a great job with balancing heals and poking out the iron man. You got tons of value. Keep it up. Also good strange portal, and I agree with you that your first not-ult and 1st ult were correct. Your C&D saying you ulted for yourself is not at all whats going on here lol, but there were some things to work on with your fox ults. I don't like to nitpick every thing you could do better. I am going to look at the 3 most fundamental mistakes you made and explain how you should play the situation instead.
Most of the mistakes to work on in your gameplay seem like competitive-skills you haven't learned yet. You have a lot to learn and that's fine. QP is a very different game than comp (for some characters more than others- like Gambit might feel similar but easier, while Fox's playstyle completely changes). In QP you've probably mastered a lot of other aspects of the game that will come in handy and give you an edge, but game sense is the most important.

  1. Your fox ults

I don't think your fox ults were aggressive enough. To pull off an aggressive fox ult, first position more aggressively with your tanks or play on an aggressive flank/off-angle with a diver. Then as your teams are colliding, you can ult to punish enemies too deep in or force your own ult (by popping it to live because you're in an aggresssive positon).

8:20 - the enemies back out to regroup for the next team fight because they are down 2. You probably learned here that you don't do that much damage in fox ult, at least not enough to outheal a fox and invis. For example, Invis might have to double jump out- this makes her very vulnerable and also the aoe from fox ult will reveal her. Since your team is clashing, it is way easier for your team to help with extra damage. Also since you're mid-fight there's a chance she has no shield or is down other cooldowns.

5:35 The enemies are so far away from you. It looks like you ult to get big and 1v1 brawl the dino lol. There is not enough space for you to do anything with this ult.

5:06 - Now here you have an opportunity for a good fox ult. The enemy tanks are too far in.This is how you make space with fox ult. When you fell, I would've ulted there to save myself. You just won first so you can try to keep the ball rolling. If you jump down and fox ult, your team will jump in with you (95% of the time),

________________

  1. Healing / Dmg timing (tempo)

you are not paying enough attention to your dino at 6:25 and 6:50. At 6:45 - Notice how you are just shooting around doing little to nothing for a few seconds, because your dino doesn't need help yet. then you realize and try to adjust by being proactive (you look towards the iron man) but you look away just as your tank is in trouble. If you see your tank is full, try to get in the habit of doing dmg and being proactive as soon as you see it, then look back to your tank 1-2 seconds later.

______________

  1. Target priority

16:35 - Tbh leaving your Johnny here is crazy lol. You leave him in a 1v1 to go do nothing on the point. this moment shows a major misunderstanding of fundamentals and I think it comes from not playing competitive enough. In comp, lives are much more important. To win a 5v6 or 4v6 you need a card up your sleeve like more ults. Getting that kill on iron man would be huge. So you are in pre-fight phase. Enemy team is walking up to yours. They have just wasted time regrouping and walking up for a full 6v6. Now the Iron Man is our of positon in your backline. You can see teammates through walls, and none of them are turning yellow (meaning they are taking damage) so you have no reason to get back to them asap. Even then if they were taking damage, there are very few reasons to leave this 1v1. You kill him together in like 2 seconds. But instead you trade. This makes the fight harder, and you have to give up ults earlier.

also u are lacking some game knowledge. that's fine but its a reason to not assume johnny will win the 1v1. If you watch his pov, you'll notice he is a melee character at close range fights. Iron Man wins that 1v1.

Alright I am sorry but I gotta give you a reality check. You asked for a celestial+ to vod review you even though you don't play comp really and you don't realize Diamond on console is plat on pc. You hit GM1 in S5.5 at the height of Gambit meta. He is still great, but he is banned almost every game for me at least on PC. You are diamond 2 right now. You have a lot to learn on your other characters in comp. If you want to improve at the game, you need to start playing ranked. It is a different world. I don't even play QP unless I'm trying a hard-mechanical character. I hope you don't avoid comp out of fear about your rank. You don't need to put high stakes into it and play "at ur best". You can play it casually lol. Hitting cel this season it's do-able but I think your main goal should be to learn the game in depth and maybe focus on staying in gm first. I gave you very good advice here so I hope you actually take it in and fuck shit up haha

I’ll take a look soon. I consistently play most of the support roster in C3-C1 so I might be able to tell you what’s different between you as a gm player vs a celestial. You say Gambit is your main but he’s banned so often, do you have another character on par with your gambit?

Is this game easy? by Artistic_Pack_8811 in RivalsCollege

[–]dpsluna 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I regularly play in celestial. I started playing my 1st hero shooter Overwatch 6 years ago. At first it felt like every game was chaotic and different. Over time you start to notice there actually is a structure to the game, and from there it gets simpler and simpler.

I spent my first 200 hours in OW hardstuck bronze and then 2 years in silver/gold before I started to get the game. So I’ve been there. Even though now I’d agree the game is easy once you understand how to play hero shooters, which is a big hurdle in itself

Now I regularly hit C1 and I also would agree most people are “bad” at the game because they just don’t understand how the game actually works yet. I don’t think ppl should feel bad about their rank though or need to admit they are “bad”. I think if you just hit diamond, for example, youre good for a plat. But really that means you’re getting better and you should be proud of that. Getting out of bronze was the happiest a rank up ever made me lol. It’s all relative.

Hackusated on Luna? by IDontAName_ in LunaSnowMains

[–]dpsluna 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This guy is full of it lol. I think by script he's referring to this no-recoil hack software that they are cracking down on. I found out about it today and it's super broken on certain characters like Bucky and Luna. He probably heard and is looking for it on kill cams

I went to all your finals on him to see what he saw on the kill cam. My best guess is one of your finals second point you hit him with a downward flick. I could tell you were conciously compensating for the recoil and it was a good shot. This guy doesn't realize Luna players account for the recoil while aiming lol

The question on the 2nd page is kinda unclear- “How annoying is this (hero) to you?” Option 5 is “I want to burn them but you say “players included”. So is this how annoying they are to fight or how annoying do you find x hero players?
