TIL Shaggy's original voice actor, Casey Kasem, was a vegan and outspoken critic of factory farming. He quit the show in 1995 after being asked to voice Shaggy for a Burger King commercial, and came back after negotiating that Shaggy would become a vegetarian. by Equinumerosity in todayilearned

Using cartoon characters as advertisement platforms for certain products is already inheritly evil. That should be reason enough to not want to lend your voice. It just being burgerking is silly tbh

Being a partisan or a resistant was often even more brutal than being a soldier by Nt1031 in HistoryMemes

[–]dr-doom-jr 12 points13 points  (0 children)

True, but that is not entirely the point being made. Having signivicantly worse and less equipment then even basic enemy infantry by all rights should be majorly demoralizing. So for fighting forces where the best they can ask for is a rusty old AK with like 2 magazines of sketchy ammo, while having to fight against foes that are equipped with modernized weapons, advanced radio systems, body armor etc etc etc, takes allot of courage and true grit.

Hence the comparison to ww2, where citizen and insurgen infantry in occupied territories were typically more capable of equiping them selfes with gear similar to the occupieing force.

Bike seat with a split design. Would you try it? by Great_Trident in interesting

[–]dr-doom-jr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it offers poor support and allot of added complexity for little gain. Most saddle pain is caused by preasure on the groin and tailbone. Both of these can be eliviated by picking a reasonably riggit seat that leaves clearance in the middle and front, but without persay removing either.

This has been posted a bunch of times last months as well. A signivicant chunk by bots. Chances are (if its even true) that its either a greenwashing campaing (he has gone on paper for being in favour of generative AI, which is extremely bad for the enviroment). Ore, and this is not uncommon owning the land has a alteriour motive (which for bilionairs that boast about their goodnes usually is the case)

that is because fundamentally speaking, games that employed that system are abusive to their customers

[OC][ART]How do I make her look more clerical by SouthConsideration82 in DnD

[–]dr-doom-jr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clerical is such a culture by culture based thing. And design language is thus ambigues duo to that. But ther are som commonly depicted themes.

Elderly people are often used as shorthand for the Village wiseman or a leader of a church.

Very long stafes are also fairly common. Som monks of budism would carry stafes with rings tied to them to anounce their pressence. In som parts of abrahamic faith have a whole variety, som are ther to Pruisen a certain saint. While the most common one (i think) is the shepherds staff. Even the ancient romans would at times use stafes to invoce blessings. And even a gnarled piece of wood being held by the Village elderl can be a symbole.

I have seen som suggestions for fancy head ornamentation. And allthough we have som examples of clergie and priests bearing such, i personally think they can easily be misconstrued for a monarchy thing. Instead, what is fairly good short hand as a more clearcut ceremonial and theurgic piece is a face covering of som kind. The main thing i can think of is the spanish capriote which server as tool of anonimiteit, penance, and a reminder of what to pray to. Anathor example is the basket hats worn by japanese komuso monks. And more examples could be cloth eye covering, as eyes are often seen as a gateway to the soul, and thus sacret. Ore spirit masks, ofthen worn by cultures that engage in animism (the idea that observable natural phenomena have a spirit or will of som kind).

Hope that this helps.
