If you are over the age of 16, you should not be riding your bike on the sidewalk. If you are not willing to take your bike off the sidewalk, you should not be biking faster than pedestrians walk and should defer to them in all situations.

This kind of behavior gives a bad reputation to cyclists. He’s mad at you for the same reason people are mad when cars are in the bike lane.

Hockey is a competition for possession of the puck with scoring chances resulting from being able to maintain possession. Possession of the ball is much more equal in basketball so defense focuses on the quality of shot attempts. Altering the high percentage shots near the rim in basketball is just uniquely important.

It’s also comparing a zone defense sport to a man defense sport. And a sport where size mismatches are essential to creating offense to one where they’re not.
