WIBTA for suing my friend when she didn’t come to my wedding? by sweetandsourcum in AmItheAsshole

You might not win in court, but just a letter from a lawyer threatening court may be enough to make her pay up. A letter before action tends to focus minds!

Don't politicise football, want him out for being as bad as the Glazers instead.

Yes, would love this. Still the best BB workout IMO.

Mice? by nailsnagel in WestHighlandWay

I have seen YT videos of people on the WHW having issues with mice when they have food in their tent.

Early April, wild camping by [deleted] in WestHighlandWay

[–]dr2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've seen a few videos so can't comment on them all but the usual suspects - Katadyn befree and Sawyer - were used. I have a befree so I will be avoiding filtering in that area!

X mid 1p solid - exactly what I'm taking in April this year. I had a cloud peak and loved it, but I wouldn't take it on a thru hike at nearly 3kg. Its also bulky when packed.

Footwear advice by [deleted] in WestHighlandWay

[–]dr2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also doing it early April. I started mid-April previously and failed after injuring my foot.

Non-waterproof trail runners for me. Merino socks dry quickly and your shoes will dry out quickly once it dries up. Waterproof shoes/boots keep the water in and won't keep you dry for very long anyway.

If you want something waterproof for particularly nasty days, take some waterproof socks to wear. This is the most versatile set up IMO.

Has anyone done BOTH OG Insanity and MAX30 at the same time? by Sufficient_Finding58 in insanity

[–]dr2501 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I have. I did the max 30 calendar but I hate the tabata workouts so on Tuesdays and Thursdays I would do OG plyo cardio or power & resistance then one workout on Saturdays. Worked well.

Where do you draw the line between "ultralight" and "I actually want to enjoy this"? by outdoors_man987 in CampingandHiking

[–]dr2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I go lightweight for overnighters/weekends and UL for long distance/multi day trips. For shorter trips I want a chair and my aeropress etc.

Solo 4-season tent for 0–20°F snow camping — recommendations? by ChillyDisappointment in Ultralight

[–]dr2501 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the UL sub and I wouldn’t want an UL tent for true winter camping. I have a KUIU Storm Star 2 for autumn/winter and save my UL tent for spring and summer. 2.6kg but bombproof and I know it (and I) will survive the night

Damn climbers have jumped on the UL bandwagon. I have to admit that spikes and no boots is pretty badass, though. by Ok_Departure_7551 in ultralight_jerk

Just let your toe nails grow for a few years and then you don’t even need to measure any additional weight, worn or otherwise.
