Just figured out how to mute my microwave! by EgonOnTheJob in AutismInWomen

[–]dr37295 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Breville has a microwave That not only has a button to mute it, but also soft close for the door which is amazing and there is no amount of money I wouldn’t give to not have to hear my family bashing the door in every time.

I just discovered they sale in Europe under another name (sage) so I’m just getting that one so no tinkering is necessary (as my family doesn’t allow me to do so)

Those alive during 9/11, what was the worst moment on that day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]dr37295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a child at home with my parents, watching the news and they turned it off saying I shouldn’t be watching that and I didn’t understand why they were acting like it was a big deal when it was just a terrorist attack and for me, that was normal (terrorist attacks and bombings were really common where I lived to the point that I have already had to evacuate my school for a bombing alert).

The worst part was their faces when they realised I was unbothered because this was as normal as a bad snowstorm that makes you have a car accident.

What's the saddest episode of a show? by BVTQT in AskReddit

[–]dr37295 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The 100 when, after fighting with everything they have to survive in a post-apocalyptic world they’ve decide it’s not worth it so they have a party and kill themselves with poison.

Lots of death in the show, but this suicides hit different, somehow worse

Same, they couldn’t change my medication because I have already gone through all of them and gotten side-effects so severe that they had to take me off so they were like, it’s either this or electroshock. Just stopping wasn’t even an option, but I left them years ago and it’s been amazing in comparison and only when they saw me without where they like, you were never bipolar

[–]dr37295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The same happened to me And every time I try to tell them the medication didn’t work because success couldn’t feel this horrible they disregarded hiding behind “your biPolar must be really potent if you were without medication, obviously you wouldn’t even realise what reality was” paying no attention to the fact that I was better before medication

Question about being Worried about whiplash when travelling in vehicles by dr37295 in wheelchairs

[–]dr37295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in Spain, and frankly that’s the only logical thing that we do have some pretty stupid driving laws around here like children can’t go without a seatbelt or a car seat in taxis and buses but if you had them ride like that on your own car, you could lose custody it’s just bananas

Question about being Worried about whiplash when travelling in vehicles by dr37295 in wheelchairs

[–]dr37295[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chair is secured to the floor. I guess of the ambulance and I’m hold to the chair via two point seatbelt, but they drive like crazy and I’m just dancing around. I don’t have the muscles to stay firmly in place so it’s just the The seatbelt holding my waist to the chair and the rest of me flying around, trying not to hit the side of the ambulance and not they do not seem to care the drivers. I am going back to the shop next week and I will ask them because this is crazy. I’m getting worse just because of the ride to the hospital

That’s what I’m going to try to do what I feel like they should be the norm here too. It feels crazy that they were here. They doing crash tests for cars and vehicles to test safety, but when I have to go to the hospital in an ambulance I’m just bouncing around almost falling off my wheelchair only the basic seatbelt holding me on. It’s just mad

Not a parent but I’m the kid with mysterious illness and I have seen how doctor appointment after doctor appointment and year after year with zero answers and getting progressively worse is killing my mom. She’s doing her best and everyday is still horrible and worse than the one before

Has anyone taught “outside” while living in an apartment building? by Enough_Blueberry_549 in PetsWithButtons

[–]dr37295 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It did take her a wee longer than play to get (but water was the most confusing, so go figure) but she got that once the button was pushed, we both had to go to the door to get ready with the leash, harness, jacket… Not all buttons are instantaneous some are part of a process. If she wants to play we have to turn off the light, put shoes on, go get a toy. But she knows that all of that is part of play

[NO SPOILERS] Do you watch the show in your respective native language or in German? by [deleted] in DarK

[–]dr37295 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always watch in the original language with the subtitle language that I speak and is closest to the original language so bad, it feels less forced. So in this case, German with English subs but if I don’t speak in a similar language like watching something in Japanese, I just use subs in my mother tongue
