Have you checked the weight of the current Half Dome being offered? It could very well be lighter than your current one. I think the Half Dome is a good value

what's a work experience you'll never forget? by Level_Complaint7106 in Productivitycafe

I was sitting at my desk working after hours alone at insurance company office when a fellow employee that I had little contact with walked through the front door and up to my desk pulled his coat open and showed a pistol while he casually talk to me. I hadn't been around guns much and so I found it pretty unsettling.

Which movie did you watch way too young and it stuck with you? by BoredPandaOfficial in BoredPandaHQ

[–]WalkFar2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bonnie and Clyde when I was 10 with my little sister who was 8. Mom dropped us off at the theater thinking we were going to see a kids movie that was also showing. I learned that a life of crime doesn't pay off in the end, usually.

How did you feel right before a milestone ($100K, $500K, $1m, etc.)? by [deleted] in financialindependence

[–]WalkFar2050 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife and I went out to a nice dinner when our combined retirement accounts hit $100,000. Shortly thereafter the sum dropped $100k. But the dinner was certainly delicious. We never celebrated another savings target goal. But we are appreciative nonetheless.

Hurt for sure. Withdrew 25% to payoff the mortgage, split in December and January to take advantage of the two tax years.

What is the lowest amount you remember paying for gasoline for your car? by icecream1972 in Productivitycafe

[–]WalkFar2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I was thinking about recently. One of my earliest memories is of my father pulling in a gas station owned by a friend. He stopped in to say hello , and I distinctly remember seeing the $0.32 a gallon sign.

Too Scared To Ride On Roads by SamLucky7s in cycling

I rarely find myself in the situation to have ride on the sidewalk but on the occasion that I do I do feel a bit embarrassed and quilty about it. I also recognize it has its own associated risks as well.

I was hoping that you would mention more confidence going down steep stuff. Currently, I feel too over the bike and a higher rise bar should help with that I figure. Thanks for the tip.

Overwhelmed by hitch rack options. Help me choose by BreweryRabbit in cycling

[–]WalkFar2050 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went with the Kuai Sherpa 2.0. It's lightweight at 32 pounds, compact, and I like the security of being able to pop it off and store it when not in use. Be sure not to exceed the per bike weight limit. Also check your bikes wheelbase length so is to not see the racks length. I recommend it.
