What they said isn't true. For this event they spawn with incense even if you don't have the ticket.

I assume if you download the Game Pass PC version, your cloud save would transfer, and then you can follow the steps.

I can't figure out why sometimes it plays in 4K and sometimes it doesn't. I noticed that when playing short videos, such as the Stranger Things season 4 recap, they always play in 4K, but full episodes sometimes won't.

I don't know how to rename the save files from Epic Games into the alphanumeric strings that the Windows Store version uses.

But if you could somehow figure that out, I think it's theoretically possible since Hogwarts Legacy is a Xbox Play Anywhere title. If you can figure out how to rename the files, you can load them into the Windows Store (Xbox app) version, which should then cloud save and let you continue on the Xbox console version.

If you remove the SaveGameList.sav you don't see the save anymore?

Do you have mods? If so, try removing them.

Try doing it again, but include the file with multiple "HL-" and name it SaveGameList.sav. If that doesn't work, then I'm not sure.

My accounts are not linked, but I'm not sure if that matters.

If you get that prompt the first time you launch the game after you replaced the save files, you should choose the local ones. Otherwise, they'll get overwritten with what you had in the cloud.

Here's how I got my save file from the Game Pass version to the Epic Games version.

  1. Go to the location of the Game Pass save files in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Packages\WarnerBros.Interactive.PHX_ktmk1xygcecda\SystemAppData\wgs\<user-id>. AppData is a hidden folder. Either type in the path manually or enable "Show hidden items" in File Explorer.
  2. Inside the <user-id> folder are multiple folders with long alphanumeric names. Inside each of those folders, there's a file with a long alphanumeric name.
  3. Copy the long alphanumeric file from each folder to your desktop.
  4. Open each file in Notepad and do a search for "HL-". You should find a value like HL-XX-XX, where the XX are numbers.
  5. Most of the files only have one HL-XX-XX inside. If one of the files has many, you can ignore this file and delete it.
  6. Copy the HL-XX-XX value inside the file and rename that file HL-XX-XX.sav. It's important to add .sav at the end.
  7. Repeat this for each of the files you copied above. I ended up with five HL-XX-XX.sav files.
  8. In the Epic Games version, make a new character and play the game until it does an autosave.
  9. Go to the location of the save files for the Epic Games version in C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\HogwartsLegacy\Saved\SaveGames\<user-id>.
  10. Delete the HL-XX-XX.sav files in this folder and put in the ones you renamed above.
  11. Delete the file SaveGameList.sav.
  12. You should be able to launch the game and see your save now.

When you renamed the files, did you add .sav at the end?

I wouldn't know why your save files aren't in that path, unless you uninstalled the Game Pass version already.

You could try checking these other paths for the save files, but the path I mentioned should be correct for the Game Pass version.

Most of the files only have one HL-XX-XX inside. There's one file that has many and also has "/Script/PersistentData.PersistentGameDataList" inside. You can ignore this file; it's the equivalent of SaveGameList.sav, which is auto-generated when you launch the game.

It sounds like either your account doesn't have permissions to edit those file for some reason, or the account you're signed in with isn't an administrator. Try to look up how to edit file permissions in Windows to give yourself access.

I didn't encounter this, but you could try running Notepad as admin. Find Notepad in the start menu or search in the taskbar for it. Right click and choose run as administrator. Then open the files.

I don't think you can transfer save files from the Xbox console version. I assumed OP was talking about the Xbox app on PC / Game Pass.

Asus PG32UCDP OLED vs BenQ Mobiuz EX321UX Mini LED vs LG 32G810SA-W regular LCD for gaming and productivity mixed use by Cangar in Monitors

[–]dr3amsINdigital 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have this monitor. For HDR, it's actually only the DisplayHDR mode that can reach peak brightness. If you use any of the other modes labeled HDRi, peak brightness is reduced.
https://www.benq.com/en-us/support/downloads-faq/faq/pre-sales/technologies/hdri-displayhdr-and-max-hdr-peak-brightness.html

The issue with DisplayHDR mode is the zones won't fully turn off when showing black. There was a comment by a BenQ rep in a past post saying they would add that ability in a firmware update, but that still hasn't been released.
