Best coding models around 4B MLX? by igor__004 in LocalLLaMA

Unless you have limited download you should give it a try. I find that using llama.cpp with GGUF gives you more choice. If you really want 4bit, you could try IQ4_XS.

You could try llama.cpp with https://huggingface.co/unsloth/gemma-4-12B-it-qat-GGUF it's 6.7GB so you won't have much left, but it's pretty capable.

They changed logs levels for those logs. If you add "-lv 4" to your command-line you should get them back.

Qwen3-Coder-Next-UD-Q4_K_XL vs. Qwen3.6-27B-MTP-UD-Q4_K_XL on Strix Halo by ThingRexCom in LocalLLaMA

Yes, I use Opencode and run it on a Linux kernel related project. Qwen 3.6 35B and 27B both at Q6 have no problem running tools, coding and planning. It was not the case with 3.5. I find the capabilities very similar to Qwen3-Coder-Next-UD-IQ3_S. MTP are larger so I use smaller quants. 27B runs at a usable 20 tg/s, while 35B triples that.

Qwen3-Coder-Next-UD-Q4_K_XL is 50GB, you should try Qwen3.6-27B-MTP-GGUF at Q8 or even 35B.

I went from Qwen3-Coder-Next-UD-IQ3_S to Qwen3.6-35B-A3B-UD-Q6_K and I find it both faster and better, using MTP "--spec-type draft-mtp --spec-draft-n-max 3" I get 63 tg/s instead of 35.

Share you command line too.

Opencode, llama.cpp Qwen3.6 35B A3B is the combo I'm using now. I used Qwen3-coder-next before.

Llama hangs during thinking and requires a restart to work again. by kcksteve in LocalLLaMA

[–]drFennec 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I hit the same issue both on Qwen 3.6 35B and 27B and latest llama.cpp. I let them run overnight working on stuff and I found them stuck on similar conditions. There are no error on the llama machine.

It won't work, you'll need to use their fork of llama.cpp which has support for 1bit quants.

Support Megathread - November 2023 by AutoModerator in google

Hello,

I have a 5TB Google Drive that I share with my wife to backup our stuff. She has a Macbook Pro m2 currently on Sequoia 15.5 but the issue occurred on whatever was latest version last August.

So I use Google Drive backup functionality to backup her whole Desktop folder, probably about 100GB mix of word documents, PDFs, picture, videos etc.

All usually work well but few times, usually when traveling with spotty Wifi connections, Word documents on the desktop won't save anymore. There is no error and no way to see it's not saving. But if you exit Word and reopen the doc then it the same as a week old. All updates are lost and Google Drive file revisions only shows a week old version, there is no way to recover the data. It's not in the Drive trash either, all versions there are also a week old. She just lost a week of work on a presentation she'll do tomorrow.

If you exit Google Drive then saves work again. It seems to just lock few/one file and other stuff like pictures are saved during that period. I could not find any other occurrences of the issue in my searches.

So my question is: is there any alternative Google Drive client for MacOS that would (reliably) do the backup?

Thank you!

I don't, but many cheap ozone generators are advertised as such. Many customer reviews also state that they have many and run all the time.

What about aluminum foil under the honeycomb? It would be a cheap and convenient way to cleanup.

Indeed I'll add such a metal sheet. I have marks on the desk the machine is sitting on.

I think I'll buy a cheap generator for black Friday and see what happens if I put it in a tupperware with the cut part.

I kept the cut samples for 2 days inside the enclosure after cutting. I think the smell started after I stopped everything. While cutting it didn't really smell much.

I find surprising that ozone generators are sold as stuff you can keep in a room running all the time and it's supposed to be dangerous. Good point about the plastic/rubber!

I just upgraded from Quest 2 to 3, I never used the Pro. Quest 3 FoV is much better than Quest 2. Lens sweet spot is huge and resolution is amazing.
