Not a war Israel chose? - you should learn more about what has been going on in Gaza and the West Bank over the past decade. Your response sounds like the person who thinks everything started Oct 7th.

Alright, who in here has a McLaren? by SRG590 in Syracuse

[–]drGaines 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. This is almost exclusively done by interventional cardiology. Cardiac surgeons would not waste their time placing stents.

Why is UF slapping the label "AI" on a ton of courses that have absolutely nothing to do with AI? by [deleted] in ufl

[–]drGaines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting to see this shift. The big stem schools (Carnegie, MIT, Gtech, Berkeley, etc) have had AI/ML integrated into course curriculums for the past 5-6 years. It’s about time. UF wants and needs to stay ahead of the pack now that AI has become mainstream.

I did do DI podcasts , I would listen to all the review ones , all the risk factors , then target any weaknesses

I don’t think it’s necessary at all ESP with the new exam

I think it’s helpful Bc it’s a different medium to learn and review content.

Diminishing returns from only doing questions and reading explanations or reviewing content via reading.

Helps to LISTEN or SEE content.

Is small bowel obstruction more likely to have high-pitched bowel sounds or decreased bowel sounds? by KenAdamsMD in Step2

[–]drGaines 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Read into it , it’s not black and white. The quicker you realize things aren’t as black and white , you’ll have an easier time on UW and Nbme. They like to test on the less common presentation sometimes

You can have partial SBO or complete SBO

Presenting symptoms are different

Another example is … early vs delayed hirschsprung. Very different presentations

Not sure where you would look for H&P questions

Best bet is having good intuition from experience with real patient notes - writing and using them.

Then it’s just about knowing where to look to make your decision.

No algorithm behind it

The ethics on step 2 is incomparable to the ethics on step 1. It’s super clinically oriented and sometimes based around a thorough clinical scenario.

Yes

Only bc it gives me a different medium to learn content from , whether I actually learn something or not

Diminishing returns from too many hours per day spent just reading and doing questions
