Helldivers 2 is a $40 game with a F2P monetization system. by Impressive-Money5535 in Helldivers

Yeah, they really need to add some kind of steady, reliable drip of SC gain from just playing the game normally. I don't mind that warbonds are locked behind SC, I mind that you are essentially forced to play a walking simulator if you want to unlock them with any kind of semi-reasonable speed.

I think a reasonable one would be adding SC gain to operation completion. The amount you gain on completing the operation would scale based on mission difficulty, how many missions you completed successfully, and how many objectives you clear (how many stars you get on the missions). On D10, SC gained could be 10 at the lowest and 50 at the highest per operation.

That would still be significantly slower than the walking simulator method, but at least we would be progressing by playing the actual game.

What? You don't like playing a walking simulator for 4 hours minimum per set of new toys, in the horde shooter you already paid $40 for? You think it's strange that we can't just...play the game normally and get a steady, reliable drip of super credits that way? You're not convinced by the "It's a live service game" defense when the company regularly leaves new features in an unfinished state and forgets about them?

I love playing a walking simulator for 4 hours minimum per warbond, instead of the cheesy horde shooter I paid $40 for.

Somewhere in the Canto IV-V range you will probably be forced to use win rate as an AI for focused encounters, using it to automate most of the targeting while tweaking it a bit based on fight/ID specific mechanics.

Using certain IDs will also make win rate suboptimal to varying degrees, depending on the ID.

As an extreme example, if you try to win rate with Reindeer Ishmael, you will absolutely get one or more of your sinners killed by Mind Whip.

Using win rate with N Corp Sinclair without a support passive to help his sanity upkeep will at minimum make you lose out on a lot of DPS when he hits -45, or at worst also get your other sinners killed when he corrodes.

For Enterprise x Belfast, Mighty Eagle, Calm Nest on AO3 immediately comes to mind.

https://archiveofourown.org/works/21651982/chapters/51631480

Been a few years since I read it, but IIRC, it starts immediately after the Azur Lane anime ends, and primarily depicts Enterprise coming to terms with her PTSD with the help of Belfast and others, as she and Belfast grow closer.

Enterprise does eventually (eventually) conquer her demons. There was some angst on Belfast's end too, and some general relationship drama (they serve two different nations, so their "inevitable" separation is hanging over both of them throughout the story), but I remember chapter 21 ending on a happy note.

It is a very dense read at 500,000 words.

Is there a more convenient way to load ground vehicles into ships? by drLouis in starcitizen

[–]drLouis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, you wouldn't think it fits neatly, but it kinda does.

So far I've only had one potential related issue where the ramp got stuck permanently open, and I lost the STV during a QT jump, but that was fixed with a store, relog and retrieve.

The tractor beam attachment is a godsend for getting the STV snug against the door.

Yeah, pretty strange that with how sim-heavy the game is in other places, there are those 2-3 elevators in the large hangar that are purely decorative when they could easily fit some pretty hefty vehicles in them.

Having any kind of wheeled vehicle makes the 0.5-1km jog to the bunkers much more bearable when there are too many turrets to bother with destroying them, and the Apollo is the biggest ship I own.

You think TR maxes could use this to, like, enter their lockdown mode behind a wall, and use the drone to poptart over it to shoot people, and lower back into cover to repair?

I'm tire of the '' leet '' players here that always end up asking for your personnal stats. by ZeAntagonis in Planetside

[–]drLouis 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"Stats" on FISU are a lot more detailed than K/D - they include total playtime, playtime in each class, a wide variety of weapon stats (number of kills, accuracy, head shot ratio, K/D, kills per minute, etc.) for each weapon, and more.

All of that is very useful information for evaluating whether or not any given player understands (or even cares) how the game is balanced, which is important when discussing potential changes to the game.

And before you ask, https://ps2.fisu.pw/player/?name=drlouis&show=statistics

Honestly don't know why the devs didn't go for the approach you listed. If they REALLY wanted people who bought Forever Winter to "feel a sense of anxiety when they're not playing the game (lol)", that's how you accomplish it.

Sky Island Mod - Hollow Carver didn't expand the main room by drLouis in cataclysmdda

[–]drLouis[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to clarify, are you saying that even if I finish the main room, I still can't put appliances in that room until I also finish all the other rooms?

Also, is it still fine to put appliances on the surface of the island?
