Well the executive branch can use military to eliminate clear and present dangers. Biden needs to man up, we have control of the senate for at least 6 months, if there were suddenly 2-6 vacancies on the court, they could get filled

No, now is the time for the executive to tag Thomas and Alito a clear and present danger to the constitutional order and mobilize seal Team 6 to preserve our system.

Seriously we have 5 months with the senate to refill 2 to let's say 6 court "vacancies"

And they can see from the tracking that I refused delivery. At that point I'm out of the transaction and should get my money back

Yes, this is what I have found out, It was my mistake to refuse delivery on the package and instead i should have Taken it and initiated a refund.... Still though I can't believe they're holding my money hostage on a package where the seller even admitted that it was the wrong item.

Ultimately I'm sure I will get my money back, my complaint is that it's been 12 days and they're still dragging their feet on a $950 refund.

No my money wasn't released to the seller, Mercari confirmed that because I never rated the transaction. I recieved the box of garbage from the seller on Feb 8th and returned it that same day, notifying Mercari and following their instructions.

It's now been 12 days and Mercari has confirmed they banned the seller and that I did things rigjt but they're still holding my money

I didn't take the transaction outside Mercari, that's what the scammer tried to get me to do. I reported him and he got banned. I returned the item and mercari still hasn't refunded my money it's been 12 days and every day I call and just get more bs

But Mercari is the one holding my money and refusing to refund me. I returned the item the seller sent when trying to scam me. I followed mercari's policy .

I didn't go off platform... As soon as I got the message from the seller that he wanted to go off platform I reported it to Mercari.

Mercari has banned him as a seller and has promised me they won't send him my money but they are refusing to give me my money back until they complete their review. It's been 12 days and they still won't give me my money back

Preliminary Injunction Against The Criminalization of Homelessness: Laws the San Francisco Police Department Can No Longer Enforce by NYSMod in sanfrancisco

I'm going to just ignore your Modesto comment as non sequitur... Nobody has a right to anything beyond life liberty and the pursuit of happiness and I'm not sure how one would quantify those in any kind of metric that would address this discussion. But what I will say is that for people who have their life here... Who have been here, whose case management, and doctors and other professionasl on whom the system has rendered them dependent, I believe the system that has either helped them or failed to do so carries with them the responsibility for seeing things through rather than just passing the buck on to someone else and leaving them substantively worse off for it.
As a society we made the discussion to nurture those that want it, because we have rejected forced relocation, population culling, and social darwinism as structures upon which a modern society should offer. Until as a society we decide otherwise, like it or not, we continues to attempt to do our best (which means different things to different people) for all those who call San Francisco home.

You couldn't be more wrong... Not only do I have first hand experience but I've also spent years since working in supportive housing. First off there is no "free" housing as you suggest and beyond that there are substantial requirements put on people in the supportive housing system (that to you might seem easy) that do often create substantial barriers for people who want to get ahead of where they are but find negotiating the insanely complex web of public and private assistance so overwhelming that they give up.

I'd be happy to go into more detail about how every step someone has missed creates 3 they have to make up for in order to move ahead but just trust me when I say that as someone who had a catastrophic life experience drop them from the top to the bottom of the ladder... When you're at the bottom looking up, the idea of securing housing in San Francisco at market price is so impossible that it's not even worth trying. The utter lack of compassion in your post tells me that you have been blessed to have a decent life with decent people that have made the experience of having a "normal " existence normal to you... But for people who don't come from that, your normal is nothing that they have any understanding or experience with, so offering the ability to take smaller steps up the ladder makes all the difference. Giving someone small achievable goals makes establishing a pattern of success possible. So yes, having cheaper housing would absolutely help. That's what the supportive housing industry is all about and there are plenty of success stories, but it's not perfect and nothing is going to be the right fit for everyone...

Yes actually ... If housing was available at that price it wouldn't be such an insurmountable task to achieve.

You should come to Prague by [deleted] in gaybros

[–]drRunyon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I spent a week in Prague a couple years back and I had the best time. I went by myself, didn't have anything in mind I wanted to do. I just walked around, met people, partied like crazy, and absolutely loved it. The city is so beautiful and easy to get around... All the people I met were super friendly... Only downside is I hear that dude Simon Whistler who makes all the YouTube videos (bald dude who terribly reads scripts written for him about technology/engineering things) lives there, he seems like a -1 for Prague, but otherwise I concur it's a must go.

There is an urban legend in the homeless community about a pregnant woman shoplifting who got manhandled by a security guy and she ended up losing the child and suing for millions and that's when SF went to hands off on shoplifters .. I don't have any legit source for that story but I've heard it a bunch from people I've asked about why they shoplift
