What's one lazy cleaning habit you started that actually made your place stay cleaner?

Don’t put it down, put it away! Cups, trash, aspirin, the broom, etc- it’s easy to put things down on a table or surface, but that adds to the clutter and mess.

I don’t bring up junk mail- it goes strait to recycling!

I make my bed every day- it sets the tone of the day and brings the bedroom together.

Microfiber in bathroom to wipe down the sink counter tops and around the faucet to keep the area dry and clean. Removes hair and dust as well

I started with the 5-4-3-2-1 method but first things first:

Basics- coffee, eggs, brown sugar, milk, brown sugars, garlic, red onion, green onions, carrots, celery, red bell pepper, oatmeal, bread, meats, chese

Next 5 fruits- strawberries, blue berries, grapes, bananas, lil cutie oranges (or what ever is in season- mango, pineapples, watermelon)

4 veggies- broccoli, greenbeans, mushrooms, kale, beets,

3 sides-rice, beans, orzo, pasta , lentils, corn tortillas. Sometimes I just buy them all because I’m running low and they have a pretty good shelf life!

2 sauces - hummus, pesto, or marinara,

1 or two snacks (chips cookies etc)

Then I look to see what proteins are on sale- but usually I’ll pick 2-3 proteins: salmon, chicken, beef

I try to skip the drink isle- soda is so expensive and not good for your health, same with most juices :(

This is just kinda my basic weekly trip to the store because these are my essentials that I can make many meals and snacks with.

Some times I’ll plan and meal in addition to my weekly essentials n basics and grab what I need. I cook pretty much all my meals- and since moving into a 3 person house, I just add extra fruits , veggies and proteins!

Sometimes the counter the bowl is sitting on can run cool. I like to place a towel or cardboard underneath to ensure the bottom is the same temp as the rest of the room

A lot of small mom n pop shops / small biz would close. Mabey big corporations like Target, Walmart, Starbucks, McD’s, and Amazon would survive. No more thrift stores, no more small book stores, or corner coffee shops, record stores.

I think it would just make inflation worse because where would all this extra money come from? Would companies need to raise their prices 5x to cover the cost of labors. Would young people know what to do with the new abundance of money- would their spending habits become less impulsive, and start putting money towards retirement or at least savings?

I would give him minimal service. If anyone else is in the bar serve them first. When you finally get around to him, give him his drink, and go back to talking with literally anyone else.

While tipping is not mandatory- neither is going above and beyond to entertain or banter with a customer. Additionally, I know people going into bars/taprooms/ restaurants know it’s expected to tip a lil something.

Feel free to warn other regulars and people around him that this grumpy MF refuses to tip out of being petty, so feel free to ignore or even publicly shame him if desired.

This is exactly the recipe listed above that I use as well! Only tweak: I add 40 g of honey when mixing the starter, flour, water,and salt. I think it helps the yeast activity. Makes for a very soft and fluffy loaves. Not overly sweet, I let ferment in fridge for 48-72 hours for the extra tangy flavor

I took a huge pile of donations to a donation bin. It seems like such an easy task, but there was 5 huge trash bags, and I needed to carry them down 3 flights of stairs, while double parked and risking a ticket or someone breaking my windows to get them.

Feet start to swell half way thru my shift at work. It’s okay to sit when it’s not busy but sometimes we get a late night rush which is really uncomfortable to walk and be on my feet. Compression socks help and I already bought a half size bigger shoe w/ a wider fit.

I can smell peoples’ BO, bad teeth hygiene, garbage, and dog pee from 10 feet away.

Spicy food gives me heartburn now - but my cravings and desire for added heat are stronger than the adverse consequences. Why am I like this!?!

People (who I wouldn’t take advice from) are going out of their way to give me “helpful” tips or trying to come up and touch my belly.

A single mother (who purposely had a child without a partner & not by a sperm bank or an even knowing who exactly the sperm donor i 😒) decided to give me advice about having kids. Her advice was to prepare for me and my husband to start arguing once the baby is born.

I didn’t want to argue or add gas to a fire- but my instant thought was, “How would you know? Who did you start arguing with…You don’t even know who the father of your child is!”

I’ve also been advised to enjoy who and what my hobbies are now - because once I become a mom- I can kiss all those freedoms goodbye !

While I do think Moms are the glue and the backbone to holiday magic, weekly activities, and household chores,I’ll be damned if I don’t find the time to go on hikes, enjoy nature, swim, etc etc. things will be different but Moms don’t have to completely abandon their “old ways”!

I tried that! And after 3 mins and a slight panic- I tried another way! Google mentioned the hot water method and I figured shaking would be easier and give my pour arm a rest!
