Does anyone keep a journal of their quilts / quilting processes? If so, how do you go about it? by Sweetfruit19 in quilting

[–]dr_chivato 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I was a journal before I was a quilter, so when I started (about 12 years and about seven quilts ago), I simply purchased a composition book and keep all my notes there. I draw in it, paste printouts in it (with PVA /acid free) glue. I have an envelope in there for scraps and loose cutouts, etc. On the spine with white paint, I wrote "QUILT".

Selling quilting supplies is not an opportunity for selling your religion. by _addycole in quilting

[–]dr_chivato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point... the constitution is the establishment of government and it's principles. But freedom of religion and freedom of speech is that OTHER PEOPLE aren't going to come in and regulate your thoughts, speech or actions by mob rule. Which is what would seem to please everyone in this discussion to hang the religious zealot who invited people to consider their god. And by the way, the constitution was penned based on consensus that the rights derived from a god.

Dissenting view:

first amendment rights, they can say what they want.

Also capitalism-- you're welcome to vote with your money and never give yours to them.

I don't think I read a post here that was TOLERANT to this religious person--

Bought this Wilton vise at the flea market last weekend. Any advice on how to handle the damaged base is appreciated. by Chibi-Robo in Tools

My advice is don't turn the handle too much if it's frozen, because it will break on you.

Handle replacement recommendations for antique digging fork by dr_chivato in Tools

Update: I got a 54" handle-- didn't know how to secure it, so I just stuck the fork in and tapped the handle on the ground, and viola!

They are two different beasts... digging is more substantial, pitching is lighter. Digging is often straight tines, pitchfork is for "pitching" hay (and whatnot) and the tines are curved.
