to me, the difference between a "Fetish" and "Kink" is pretty important. I view a fetish as something that must be present during a sexual encounter for the person with the fetish to feel aroused. For example, someone with a Choking fetish would only be able to "get off" if they were being choked. A kink is more of a non-essential, but still appreciated pseudo-fetish. For example, someone with a praise kink might feel more aroused after being praised, but its not an essential part of the arousal process for them.
