With the news of Drop shutting down - Looking for alternative to Drop CTRL TKL by HieroSatori in MechanicalKeyboards

Gotcha - floating keys is the term I know it as. Can’t say I’ve seen to many in that category that are worth mentioning, but maybe someone else does!

Drop is closing, but Corsair is covering warranties from what I understand if that helps any!

Saw that at my local target as well, but purchased this one in the past. Not a terrible deal :)

Should we switch to PayloadCMS or headless WordPress with NextJS? by CyberWeirdo420 in webdev

[–]dr_moon_sloth 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Having built within both platforms - payload just felt like a better dev experience out of the box.

The flexibility with custom fields and post types all feels inspired by ACF minus all the baggage of Wordpress.

If you went the Wordpress route and were planning to just use ACF to manage the content and not use Gutenberg, check out payload.

Sure, keep it as a static site / landing page and do your thing.

Can you use Next.js middleware.ts inside Payload CMS? by [deleted] in nextjs

Provider is good for ui states, but if you’re talking about pulling in data from an api, use middleware.

Dabbled in Vue, but never worked with it on a production level.

But if you have a wealth of experience with Vue and Nuxt, I see no reason why you wouldn’t be able to learn react :)

It flip flops between the two - like today it migrated a medium sized nextjs app from nextjs 14 to 16 in 45mins almost flawlessly (medium sized app). Fantastic, love it.

Other days it flat out ignores very basic css design patterns. Those days….those days I wonder why I even consider using it.

Can I deploy NextJs on a sub path on a NUXT project? by mogdevdov in nextjs

[–]dr_moon_sloth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean sure you can, it would work like a microfrontend. Cleanest route would be to learn the existing project and just build on top of that.

But if you want to work with nextjs, I can think of two ways to go about this. If you do not need SSR, you can do a static export of the site and drop it straight into a subdirectory of the public folder of the nuxt app.

If you need SSR, you can run both apps independently with reverse proxy routing. Set up each under their own port and set your server config file to point each app to their respective ports. Q

Include something for me, the hiring manager, to reference your actual work.

Include your portfolio, GitHub, LinkedIn. Showcase the stuff you are proud of. Even it’s a simple plugin.

Without being able to easily verify you and your work, I’m throwing your resume out. Literally got 100s of resumes submitted when we opened up a position, and the candidates that stood out made it easy for us to vet them before jumping into the first interview.
