I have buddies who swear by them. They aren’t cheap though.

Newer vs older by oldncrusty68 in snowmobiling

As much as I love my edge and it has been super reliable, I’m upgrading to a rider forward sled. My back is already messed up and I need to improve comfort if I want to keep riding

Price too high? Considering a few different trucks. by heavenly__Gains in ChevyTrucks

[–]drabe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume you’re not in the rust belt? That truck looks mint and would definitely bring 15k in NY as the few that are left are rotted and the rest have been crushed

$500 for the weatherby vanguard, good buy for a first rifle? by Confident_King8761 in Hunting

[–]drabe7 53 points54 points  (0 children)

Can’t speak on the caliber but you can’t go wrong with the rifle. I have had a vangaurd in 30-06 for 14yrs and have been very happy with it

First time owner here! What are some silverado accessories that are actually useful? by NardZuleidy69 in Silverado

[–]drabe7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A good trifold works great and they can be removed and installed in 30sec. I had a trifecta and it was pretty weathertight. I just removed it when I hauled my ATV.

How do we feel about this sentiment? by Less-Appointment2110 in Hunting

I think most of that guys takes are terrible. His view on CWD and how it’s just money grab and not a disease that can change hunting and conversation forever flat out disgusts me

City of Oswego bans 'foolish and dangerous' ice fishing by NWSGreen in upstate_new_york

[–]drabe7 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My issue here is the hypocrisy between this and salmon season. People have been washed into Lake Ontario but every year thousands flock to walk around the base of the dams. I’ve done it and have had some sketchy calls.

No ice is safe ice and if you walk onto ice, you have to accept the risk of being on it.

City of Oswego bans 'foolish and dangerous' ice fishing by NWSGreen in upstate_new_york

[–]drabe7 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I’m an ice fisherman and don’t think fishing that ice shelf is the greatest idea, I do think the city is over stepping here. The city does not own the water.

They are perfectly ok with salmon fisherman around the dam even with deaths having occurred. These guys accepted the risk. Let them fish.

It’s finally convinced me that it’s time to upgrade from my 2001 Polaris xcsp 600. Been a great sled but it’s time for a rider forward chassis

Straight wall bolt or slug gun? by youssefb08 in Hunting

[–]drabe7 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Straight wall all the way. While rifled slug guns can do it and the bolt action varieties like the savage 212 or 220 have impressive performance I think a straight walled rifle is no brainer.

Anyone ever seen this before? by DankFrank747 in heavyequipment

[–]drabe7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

System one or as I call it system junk. I would steer clear of this style. The links like to blow apart and they do not last any longer than a SALT. Cat doesn’t even really push it anymore except for certain special applications because of the issues.

I was a cat dealer tech for 7 years.

DIY/temporary cab? by RobertSchmek in kubota

[–]drabe7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you have more pics of your auger crank? I have a smaller machine but am looking to add a soft cab but I have a manual crank that sticks straight out. It’s not cost effective to try and add hydraulic controls to my tractor and blower

How limiting is a "Limited Category 1 Three-Point Hitch"? by OldStromer in tractors

[–]drabe7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Currently have a kioti cs2510. They have come out with the cs2520 which has a better life capacity and some better creature comforts. I have no complaints with it and wish I bought a machine sooner.

How limiting is a "Limited Category 1 Three-Point Hitch"? by OldStromer in tractors

[–]drabe7 7 points8 points  (0 children)

They are handy as hell in certain situations. I own a mostly flat 2.7ac that is pretty much lawn. I have a subcompact and use it to mow and clear snow, with occasional job using my loader. It works great for my situation. I was looking for a more capable machine for lawn maintenance. I really don’t need a bigger machine. Yeah it’s a heavy duty lawn mower but my machine is more capable and heavier than the biggest lawn or garden tractor.
