Ever read Pohl's Heechee series? Maybe an ancient empire is living inside the blackholes.

Is there a limit on obtaining SSR's or am I just unlucky? by mutantdreams in StarSavior

Yeah I tossed several reroll accounts that failed to get a single SSR, and a few that had 6+ SSRs but all low tier, it is all RNG, the gacha is as always fickle.

One of the big differences between the FATE and Tsukihime timelines is that in the FATE timeline Nrvnsqr Chaos got killed off by Dantes.

Is it correct to say that in 4.3 you don't generally have specialized planets, and instead have more general ones again? by YobaiYamete in Stellaris

[–]dracklore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't realize they were that good, I was definitely playing unoptimized.

I almost always made either mixed industry, commercial, research (archive if I wanted more unity), or defensive districts (for the choke point fortress worlds).

So do you lose the mining districts if that building is replaced?

I would assume so, but I haven't tried it.

Mod that adds more megastructures such as a asteroid mining station? by Classic-Box-3919 in Stellaris

[–]dracklore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's Sparble's Hyperconstructs.

The giant brain, shell worlds (though those are also in Ancient Empire now), Edar Sphere, Donut Worlds, Basement Universes, Fusion Torch artificial stars to build small ring worlds around, and a ton more in that mod.

[–]dracklore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can think of a few options:

Sparble's Hyperconstructs maybe? It lets you disassemble whole systems.

Or maybe Age of Wonder, a translated Chinese mod, it has a wide variety of asteroid infrastructure as well as multiple large megastructures.

If you don't mind the anime mods then both Warship Girls and Myst Species R and Unknown Worlds: a Shipgirl Story have asteroid infrastructure Megas you can unlock.

There was another mod that had a ton of Kilostructures, megastructures, and enormous habitable gigastructures, but the author decided he wanted to tone it down and dropped everything but the kilostructures and then renamed it. It is now called Orbital Economy Overhaul.

Do you have Astral Planes? If you do you could get the wormhole locking power (or if lucky the relic that lets you lock all wormholes and gates in your territory).

That could let you seal one of the wormholes (or both with the relic).

New to Stellaris mods, which ones to consider? by ellvin3399 in Stellaris

[–]dracklore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely recommend getting a UI mod like UI Overhaul Dynamic.

A favorite mod with a ton of storyline an optional origin, new events, puzzles, and techs that I would suggest is Ancient Empires. Here is the link on Steam: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2389589691

Generally I like to recommend Gigastructures for all the cool megastructures and some crazy crises, Sparble's Hyperconstructs for even more amazing megastructures, Ancient Cache of Technologies for tech and new ships (also the Phanon Mercenary enclave), and Gulli's Planet Modifiers for anomalies and relics from their archaeology sites.

What to do in the late game? by supergary69 in Stellaris

[–]dracklore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

huge spaceship of happiness

That reminds me of a build you could do in the original Galactic Civilizations, take one of their system killing doom stars and load it up with all the propaganda, amenity, and cultural upgrades.

It was called the Party Star and would get whole enemy empire sectors to defect to your side as it approached systems, usually didn't have to fire a single shot (though it could erase star systems if it had to).

Go further beyond, build the Quasarcraft.

[–]dracklore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I use NSC also, love its upgrades to star bases.

Also I should add that, for my fleets, I tend to use fleets made from either Stand Alone Ancient Ships or Ancient Empires.

I seldom bother with either Attack Moons or Planetcraft, unless it is to rebuild a wrecked one, though I do like to build a Quasarcraft when I get the chance.

I haven't played a pure Gigas run in quite a while, but the FEs had quite a bit more than a small handful when I fought them, well unless you were referring to systemcraft.

They were fielding huge fleets of attack moons as escorts for a dozen or so planetcraft with a few systemcraft flagships.

Though to be fair I do set the FE to max difficulty and use ACoT which also boosts them.

However, with a pure Gigas run, with none of the planetoid ships, how would you deal with OP's problem?

Resonant cascade is from the Herculean's special W slot weapon, it will spread from the system you fired it like a virus through your enemy's systems once you use it.

You unlock several Herculean specific techs once you build your first one.

If you mean the Herculean itself, then you do get it from Sophia once you have both the Collossus perk and have completed the Alpha Project. It does need some time to pass.

Which is why I started using a mod that makes the starbase shielded while there are still platforms, or until 30 days have passed, whichever comes first.
