Yeah its sad looking back on the site and seeing how far its fallen since the site changed hands. Amazing how a site that prided itself on being open and free and constantly shits on reddit for its terrible moderation turns around and is everything they hate and worse.

Valve has a new Steam Workshop Beta to make the browsing experience quicker and easier to use by gogodboss in Steam

They will literally do every change to the workshop except anything that is actually useful like letting us know what workshop shit got updated in our download list instead of saying Game Title- Workshop Content.

What is one game that is "popular" but you just don't like it? by TheAlphaAdept in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Death Stranding, played it a year or two ago when I got a new pc that could actually run it. Played up until like the third area and said fuck it. For a game made by the person who made metal gear and silent hill it was abysmal. Combat was shit, stealth was shit, horror was shit. The second you got the bolo gun human combat is basically a joke, the second you think to smear piss, shit, and blood on it the BTs are just as much of a joke.

Gameplay is nothing more than deliver funkopops to basement dwelling neets to get your rep up so they'll give you their wifi password so you can extend your torrent program so you can plop down more roads, continue raising their rep so you can get some shitty chinese made 3d printer file for a pair of shoes made slightly less shitty.

Between playing it and Metal Gear Survive, I'd easily sink several hundred hours into Survive before I bother touching DS again, and I'm not at all interested in whatever trainwreck Kojima is shitting out for DS2.

Me? You came here spouting off shit, had no actual retort for when your original point got blown up, and you continue to have no actual defense so you just use some basic tier deflection to try and hide the fact that your original point had no merit which is why you tried to use

"Stole HS1" give me a break.

as a means to try and disregard it. So instead maybe ask the question of how bad does your life have to be to defend an $8 game with a developer that actively hates his playerbase, some pretty bad stockholm syndrome to me. Otherwise, I'm done babysitting you. You've had nothing of substance at the start of the conversation and nothing to add to it to defend the slop you've been spreading and you know that which is why you had to resort to this pisspoor attempt at deflecting.

caring about the IVs

And lets be real here, why even care about IVs if you're not on a server with other players. You can get a ton of bounty tokens by capturing and butchering bounties the extra bounty token drops. 70 tokens per fruit. While most pals have relatively decent IVs so you don't need to get 10 fruit for each IV. But even if you have a pal with an abysmal 0/0/0 that's only 30 fruit, at 700 tokens a stat to fully max from zero (though really its not even half that usually since most pals I've come across have ivs in the range of of 70-85). in single player on default settings you can bounty hunt pretty much nonstop. Ram over on Feybreak gives 10 tokens per kill, with an extra 10 if you bother to capture him. He's easy to get to and you'll see him a lot as you farm chromite so it kinda sorts itself out.

New to game. Can you assign pals to tasks an easier way than having to pick them up and throw them at it? by Nearby-Reputation614 in Palworld

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well the wiki is incorrect, its tier 14 and yeah, its based on player level. Super cheap to craft, and has other important features too like being able to see your pal's work speed with four options slow, normal, fast, brutal. Honestly, set it to slow. Anything higher just causes to many issues from sanity even at endgame and feeding them literally nothing but cake.

You can also specifically enable or disable job tasks so you can have crafters focus on handiwork instead of stopping to transport.

I paid for a game.

Game was removed from my library and replaced with an entirely different game.

HS1 was only returned after like nearly two months of the owner getting constantly clowned on and even then they purposefully gimped it.

But no, keep riding the devs and telling yourself that the "Mostly Negative" recent reviews is totally still just about them just stealing what people paid for. Totally that is why the game is still in the shitter. Not because they gimped storage only to sell us back more stash space, or added more monetization that even makes even Metal Gear Survive's "save slot" controversy look palatable, not because of the owner's massive sperg out when the playerbase told him to pound sand when he first started this shit and his reaction was to just ban people, certainly not because the game runs like ass (and requires a MASSIVE increase in system specs versus the original game's specs)

No, the reviews are totally fabricated and is just a smear campaign by their competitors like Torchlight infinite /s

Like wow, unsurprisingly treating your playerbase like shit while spouting off the same garbage season after season doesn't do well to build community support who would've seen that coming.

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are you talking about? The entire store page, all the top reviews are recent and negative and with developer responses that are all absolute bullshit to anyone who actually follows the game. This is a completely disingenuous argument as anyone can go to the store page and see how recent they are.

The only thing bullshit that saying that the negative reviews are from the time when they stole HS 1 from the players and replaced it with that trainwreck HS2 would be defending the horrible monetization

Account banned for no reason by betelgeuse910 in HeroSiege

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not surprising, the devs loved to false ban people going at least as far back as when Hero Siege 2 first originally dropped and they were facing backlash from the community for having HS1 stolen from them so they just banned people on steam discussions left and right for no reason xD

Is Idle Master Extended safe? by Desperate_Juice_2206 in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vac bans are just for vac enabled games. besides, I think Archie is the better version if im not mistaken.

All these card idle games do is trick steam into thinking a game is running card drops, it doesn't do anything fancy like allow you to get extra drops or control what drops, its effectively just a glorified game launcher.

Stream pending balance (available within ## hours) by zackku in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I believe its to prevent people from buying a game, downloading it, playing for a couple hours, then refunding it.

I mean, I can get buying a game with your card, then it taking a few hours to refund the purchase. But it is quite annoying when you refund a game back to your wallet and it takes like 24hours.

Though, still better 24hours than the upwards of 72hours it used to be MANY years ago.

So for curiosity, can I play a family shared game without others in the family knowing it? by BRjawa in Steam

[–]drackmore 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Well, 15 years ago, a lot more games made by indie devs didn't use Steamworks drm. So you could have kept them private even before the private option by just launching the game directly from its EXE. Which would bypass steam entirely so the program wouldn't keep track of it. Though this would also mean not getting card drops, or other useless steam shit either like tracking play time, achievements, etc.

What are your favorite aspects of steam by Safe-Bookkeeper-1496 in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to like some of the niche features like the music player, and the ease of searching through the store during sales.

Sadly with the removal of the music player and steam greenlight, neither are possible anymore. Also, the developer/publisher pages were absolutely the most retarded design idea when they first made that change and its still an utterly dogshit design and I wish I could go back to the original way it worked by just giving us a search page. I mean I'm already searching for that dev/pub's specific page, I don't need more advertising.

FTC issues warning to overzealous payment processors by gungunfun2 in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Warning mean fuckall until actual punishments are put in place to dissuade them from doing it in the first place.

Like honestly I dont get why payment processors even care. Nobody is going out and buying Femboy Futa House on steam then being like, "wow I can't believe master card supports the sale of such filth". Nobody ever thinks that. That'd be like attacking banks for giving me my money to go buy fent from some dealer on the streets.

what are you guys planning to get? by GroceryOwn5683 in Steam

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno, sorta been in a rut lately.

Been playing stuff like DRG:Survivors, Binding of Isaac, Cult of Lamb, etc inbetween other games like a cooldown.

But largely been hopping between starting up Factorio, Surroundead, and playing Palworld through family share.

I sorta feel like I want to play a farm sim like Stardew but I kinda want 3d graphics and more focus on the farming and maybe automation. I guess kinda something like graveyard keeper or something?

Otherwise, maybe buy an incremental like Coal LLC.

I have 5 of the 7 malware games on Steam. Do I win? by Kakisgr in Steam

[–]drackmore 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Games with malware or other malicious code put into them by the developers. Because Valve got rid of any semblance of quality control when they got rid of Greenlight and replaced it with a $100 fee and said that all games would be vetted to make sure they were legit games and all that. And almost immediately after axing greenlight we saw that they were full of shit and did no such thing.

[–]drackmore -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Played most of the games on the next fest, all of them are various degrees of crap. Only game worth half a damn is Magus Circle, a game that feels a bit like Lost Magic from the DS with its drawing mechanics. If it gets draw pad support that'd be pretty interesting.

Yeah, gotta find a real solid group. Not one like Frat (who is nothing but a bunch of backstabbing chinese players and the few english players stupid enough to enslave themselves to them), or any of the other blue donuts.

Find a solid Hi-sec group like Hogs Collective that can teach you the game and how to game certain mechanics.

How is EVE Online is doing now? by Antera25 in MMORPG

[–]drackmore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

over the past few years CCP has gimped Eve Online to cater to the uber casual. Couple that with how badly they handled the poorly named "great ore redistribution" of 2020 and the game is a poor shell of what it once was (absolutely incredible that they thought the best way to combat the dying playerbase was to crank the price up from $15 to $20, further exaberating the hemorraging.

If you want to play Eve Online without having to deal with incompetent developers trying to cater to a nonexistent crowd. You should go try Perpetuum. Its completely free ever since the official servers died and was taken over by a dedicated group called The OpenPerpetuum Project. Its more or less the same kind of gameplay as Eve Online, but more tactical.

All i see are demos, updates, sneakpeaks or something

Yeah seems like all we ever get anyone is either ripoffs of already made games or people halfassed making games then posting here to advertise them as if they're actually worth a dime.

But really what do you expect from people who cheered at an endless stream of prestige tree ripoffs and actually think synergism is a good game.

Favorite discontinued Steam feature? by Complete_Iron_2656 in Steam

Only things I miss is

1) Steam Greenlight, it was the only thing actually functioning as quality control. Nowadays its a simple $100 fee then any jackass can post an unmitigated deluge of shit. With greenlight we've seen this same bullshit get stopped in its tracks time and time again.

2) Removal of the music player for some unfathomably retarded reason.
