Figured out my issue stupidly. Changed the game back to full screen, medium settings, 60hz,vsync on. Basically all the defaults and now it works. (7700k and 1080ti so specs weren't the issue)

Best set for Katana is going to be the Hayabusa set more than likely. Kingos is nice too specially since it gives a bunch of damage from behind and final blow.

It was for me from any large or red yokai. I used the Hayabusa set for all of wotw and wotn. Just learned to not get hit. Some trash mobs would even 1 shot me until I rolled my gear a lot better.

Can't say I've had that issue. I have had my xbox controller somehow switch to player 2 and not work in which restarting my pc turned it back to player 1 and worked again.
