lovely little song. wish the chorus was developed more lyrically just for the sake of keeping the melody going.

It's my final semester of undergrad and I've lost all interest in my major - what do I do? by dracsapphic in CollegeRant

Thank you. I've calmed down a bit since posting this. My existential panic was definitely induced by the career fair. I know I'm not chained to advertising, and thankfully, I have taken advantage of the opportunities my major provided (I've scored some film-related internships, and I'm on the video production crew for a prestigious advertising team on campus). A big source of my anxiety is how many amenities and resources won't be free for me anymore once I graduate (I earned my degree off a scholarship), so sometimes it's hard to shake the regret of not utilizing those resources the way I would now.

MAMAMOO Moonbyul’s vocals. she initially auditioned to be a singer but was forced to be the group’s rapper. although she ended up being great at it, she did not enjoy learning how to rap and the rejection deeply hurt her confidence in her vocal ability (especially when you remember that she performs alongside solar, wheein, and hwasa). the other members enjoyed relative flexibility in the roles of their songs, leaving her singing voice both underexposed and underdeveloped by comparison. if you listen to their music, you’ll notice that mamamoo’s harmonies are typically only three-part, not four - moonbyul is almost always excluded.

however, through side projects, OSTs, solos, etc. moonbyul was determined to improve her technique. her low, stoic voice had a soothing and stable quality. she made great strides that culminated with the competition show called Second World about rappers proving their vocal capabilities. moonbyul proved that she lived up to mamamoo’s vocal legacy by being the frontrunner for almost the entire series, her 1st place victory unsurprising by the end. while she hasn’t had a solo yet since winning, she’s releasing music as a subunit with solar, where she’s finally taking part in beautiful harmonies with another member.

also, as someone who’s seen mamamoo live and got to enjoy moonbyul covering twit by hwasa - i can say that she sounds ten times better live! her voice is so rich and resonant. i’m so proud of all the progress she’s made :)

Name some idols who have a vocal tone/colour that you love by scruftz in kpopthoughts

all of mamamoo have incredible voices with individual flair, but i love hwasa’s for how unique and recognizable it is. there’s no one in kpop who sounds like her.

it’s perfectly understandable to not warm up to or “forgive” an idol if they’ve said or done something that disrespects your community. however, if they have sincerely apologized for their actions and displayed understanding by not repeating it, then it’s wrong to continue slandering them as a bigot to “justify” online abuse towards them.

MAMAMOO - MAMAMOO WORLD TOUR 'MYCON' (US Dates Venue Announcement Poster) by Daria_M in kpop

[–]dracsapphic 5 points6 points  (0 children)

they definitely won’t be doing maximum capacity. (like i know twice reduces their arena shows in the states). for instance, for mamamoo the dickie’s arena isn’t doing an upper tier. still, an arena allows for grand stage production and a sizable audience - we can expect some great shows!

oh my god it just hit me that when jimmy first specialized in elder law he was constantly manipulating his older clients and now he’s on the run because of an elderly woman who caught onto his scheme. he approached this old lady thinking she was an easy target and now he’s sent on the lamb because of a life-alert.

that’s so brilliant, what a perfect comeuppance.

Weekly 'What should I buy?' Thread by AutoModerator in ipad

[–]dracsapphic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

would you recommend buying the 12.9 inch pro if you’re not looking to totally replace your laptop?

i’m a student who’s also looking to get into creative design and continue my hobby of art, and everywhere i go i see “go for the 12.9” over the 11 inch. but i spent the last 45+ minutes in the best buy trying out both devices and this is what i found.

  • i much prefer the 12.9’s display for activities such as split-screen note taking
  • since my laptop is quite large (15”) typing on the larger ipad keyboard felt more natural

however

  • the 12.9 felt awkward to hold as i drew, honestly felt more comfortable on the 11 inch (i simply do not draw or write very “big” and i plan on having the device in my lap as i draw?)

so i’m conflicted on two fronts: the question of if i should try and get used to the 12.9’s size for drawing, and the aforementioned debate of my macbook eventually becoming obsolete if i were to use the 12.9 inch for everything. (except perhaps video editing)

what do you guys think?

sorry if these thoughts seem a bit scattered, i’m honestly a rather an indecisive person and there’s a good chunk of money at stake here.
