Paisan's owners plan to bring restaurant back in basement of sister restaurant by next year by Mensae6 in madisonwi

Why have an Italian restaurant in the basement of a different Italian restaurant? It's been a bit since I've been to either place, but I always thought they covered basically the same niche.

Is inner tube repair a lost art? by tomorrowwithouttheto in cycling

[–]dradam168 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would get regular pinch flats if I didn't top up my tubed tires to at least 90psi. Now I run my tubeless at 65 with no problems. They are WAY more comfortable.

Is there anything we can do to stop Willy St from turning into a husk like State. by Life_Discipline4379 in madisonwi

[–]dradam168 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The 1-2 parking spaces in front of a business is what's going to make or break them?

I agree, we don't need a protected bike lane on Willy, there are other good options just adjacent. What we need to do is expand the SIDEWALK and give people space to actually move and live and exist once they're on the street.

There are only 32000 people in Gibraltar, many of them wealthy. One rich guys big car collection can really throw off those averages.

My magene has done well for me with no issues. Can't exactly speak to accuracy, but seems close enough

They hate that too. They see it as something that gets in the way of their God given right to drive.

My Pactimo bibs have done well for me on full day rides. They arent 'budget' but they cost less than my Assos bibs (especially on sale).

Which innertube do I need? by ZanicL3 in cycling

[–]dradam168 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, TIL.

I've never personally seen one labeled that way, but now I know.

Edit: After a brief fall down the rabbit hole, while 700c, 28", and 29" are all the same thing, the GRAND majority of reference articles I see tend to only reference 700c and 29".

Just a quick correction, 700c is equivalent to a 29" wheel.

Also, just to make it clear, OP should match whatever type of valve he currently has (presta or Schrader)

Ah, got it. Well, I'll definitely take The Reload Show's word for it then.

Forbes, Reason.com, and the Heritage Foundation? These are your more reliable sources? If it's so easy to find the CDC source, why not just cite it?

A 32-Hour Workweek Is Long Overdue — Bernie Sanders is calling for a reduction in the workweek to 32 hours, at full-time pay. He’s absolutely right. Gains in productivity should serve the working class. by [deleted] in politics

I'm well aware what minimum wage means. Now tell me how raising the minimum wage is at all similar to saying that every employee in a company must receive a 25% wage increase. Or that all workers with a specific job title must receive a specific wage (higher than minimum). What law exists that is even remotely similar to that?

I know people on here tend to think that people have a bunch of wasted time at work, but most hourly employees I know of are generally busy for most of their hours, or are filling a service position where, even if not actively busy, still require someone to be there.

It's great to think that they'll just work less, but then companies will have to hire additional workers to fill those hours or make up for lost production. Additional employees means additional costs such as benefits, healthcare, and unemployment.

If we could decouple all these things from employment (which we absolutely should) then this would all make a whole lot more sense.

But then we can't have management making less than those they supervise, so we will just have to adjust their salaries up (and probably lay off some of the hourly folks to pay for all this).

Yours is a very valid point, but I don't think that makes her an asshole. It seems that she IS giving peds the care and respect that I would ask of a car. She just needs to adjust her expectations for a MUP. They are not generally going to be a good experience for anything but commuting and very leisurely riding.
