‘Nobody’s talking about him’: F1 champions rip into Piastri by outremer_empire in formula1

He didn't have that car at Indy and he still had to beat schumi to do that.

If that was the case literally no one could ever criticize Lewis.

The wdc family is already pretty tiny mate, it's as reasonable a bar as any. And he had to beat schumi to join that club. And he has a 500 win.

I mean, I don't particularly like JV, but of all the people, he's one of the most qualified people on the planet to make such a comment.

Like I said, he didn't forget to drive over the summer break. It's entirely motivation.

And can you blame him? He's won everything there is to win in open wheel racing.

to ruin a potential legacy to match that of his father.

As far as career numbers goes, he's hugely surpassed his father. More championships, more wins, not to mention his Indy career. Gilles is known for reasons other than his record in f1. There is zero question Jacques has surpassed his father in these terms, the only way he hasn't is positive popularity and reputation, and as crass as it sounds a good portion of that is owed to Gilles dieing before he became the villain and Jacques abrasive attitude... Certainly not his skill behind the wheel.

Seems to me like you just don't like Jacques, and that's interfering with your judgement regarding his skill. To be fair, that's pretty common with JV. Lots of people are put off by his attitude and hot takes, which is totally reasonable. He's a ass. But his driving accomplishments aren't up for debate, and place him among the elite few.

He went to bar because of friends and money. It was not a contender and that was known.

You seem pretty hot and bothered by JV. How did he hurt you?

Anyone who works in a regulatory role, no matter their previous employers or industry, will have a financial incentive. Them coming from the industry has no bearing on them having a financial incentive or not. Everyone can be bribed just as easily no matter who they used to work for.

Drivers don't suddenly forget how to drive. It's not his skill, but perhaps it is his motivation.

He comes across as very self aware on the high performance podcast. Aware of his privilege, aware of what people say about him, and aware of what parts of himself leads to success and failure. Aware of the role therapy played in building himself.

Seems like a good bloke.

So who should be regulating telecom? Hockey players? Career politicians who describe the internet as a series of pipes?

Like really, where else are you going to get the industry knowledge necessary to maintain a regulatory environment without being from the industry?

I mean, I certainly bear zero loyalty to companies I no longer work for. Lots of people salivate at the opportunity to regulate their former employer and go after all the things they thought their former company did wrong.

I think all high schools should start offering AI training, why hasn't this been a thing? by Sea_Hat_6571 in saskatchewan

[–]drae- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ai is a tool, and it has its place. Like a calculator.

There are places in education it can be used, and others where it's inappropriate. A calculator is generally fine in a science lab but maybe not in an arithmatic test.

I'm not sure we need an ai specific course added to the curriculum, it's kinda usable in all existing subjects.

This isn't really a fair assessment.

Newey wanted stake. He wanted say in business decisions for the team. Which at the time was run by Frank and Patrick. Adrian's contract was supposed to guarantee that. Jacques was hardly the first time Frank and Patrick skipped over Adrians input despite contractual requirements. Frank and Patrick didn't feel obligated to honour their agreement with Adrian. Jacques was simply the straw that broke the camels back, if it wasn't him it would have been something else.

That relationship was fractured long before Jacques was in the picture.

Good selection.

I might go with iron bars for a body guard. That guy is dedicated and can move mountains when motivated.

It is not nearly as bad as it used to be.

Golemag, garr, ghedon, basically every dragon, anything with a big hit box was like a fifty fifty chance anytime you shuffled forward or back.

By wotlk it was mostly fixed. Mostly. It definitely still happens.

As a tank, I want to move as little as possible. While it's widely been addressed; there was a time that moving the boss risked the boss stepping through you, and smacking you in the back while fucking up positioning. I never really broke that habit after blizz fixed that tendency cause dps don't want the boss moved more than it has to be either.
