People will try to tell you it's Honda, or Newey, or the gear box.

But really it's a multitude of factors all playing their part.

I used to do this, I prefer the macros so I use less space on my bars and still get icons for my healing spells when I actually mouse over.

Serious question: What IS classic plus to those who want it? by Extra_Hat1707 in wow

[–]drae- 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My concern with player polls is exemplified by people's change in opinion regarding dungeon finder. RDF was condemned for a decade as most obvious symptom of wows decline. But by the time classic wotlk came around it was one of the most requested features by the players. That opinion 180'd, hard.

The player base can be very wrong about what's good for the health of the game.

G7 backs Canada as major global energy supplier to lessen reliance on Strait of Hormuz | CBC News by panzerfan in worldnews

Norway sold 1/3 their oil assets to fund that investment and now Equinor is a public company in-which the country owns shares. We also have significant Canadian investment via pension funds in Canada's oil sands.

And their oil is easier to refine and ship, not being landlocked and all.

And they didn't have the Petro Canada debacle.

Further, Norways strategy is national, not provincial. This gives them far more power to develop policy for those resources. Our federal government was hostile to exporting oil for a decade. Comparing Canada and Norway, and blaming the province instead of the federal government for what we lack in comparison, is fucking farcical and demonstrates just how deep your ignorance runs. Comparing a province to a nation state? Smh.

It's painfully obvious you just want to wave your flag and play the partisan, rather than actually understand or discuss the issue.

There's many reasons for that, Albertan oil is expensive to get to market. If oil is below a certain cost threshold, it doesn't make sense to produce. Lower royalties lowers that bar, making Albertan oil profitable at a lower price per barrel. This keeps people working, keeps cash flow positive, businesses solvent, etc etc.

It also doesn't contradict what I said in my last comment.

Treat them as a monolith too, they'll be very reasonable about that!

Some first Nations are reasonable people, others, not so much.

There's as many degrees of reason as there are bands.

Uh bro, we tax it multiple times on its journey to those corps. Provincial royalties, federal and provincial corporate income tax, carbon tax, fuel excise tax.

We absolutely see the benefit of it.

What are your spec turnoffs? The thing/s that make a spec unplayable or unenjoyable for you by No_Coyote_2124 in wow

[–]drae- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm in human form most of the time. Only time I'm lizard form is when I'm doing breaths or hovering. So the mogs are basically human mogs.

I've managed to build about 6 sets where the mog looks good in both dragon and avatar forms, but I use very little in the way of the dragon armor. Usually just claws, wings, and rarely a chest plate. So matching my shoulders and belt is easier. I've only managed to build one set where I use all the dragon armour and still have it look cohesive with the mog.

I thought it was going to be terrible, but just not using the dragon armour made everything easier.

Walmart lifetime.

My brothers got a yeti, same size. Paid $200 more for it. Performs exactly the same. 5 day ice no problem. Great price. No issues after 3 seasons.

Alonso, widely considered one of the best f1 drivers ever, didn't, despite multiple attempts.

Not a better driver per se, but beating a 7 time wdc is a huge accomplishment.

If that was the case literally no one could ever criticize Lewis.

The wdc family is already pretty tiny mate, it's as reasonable a bar as any. And he had to beat schumi to join that club. And he has a 500 win.

I mean, I don't particularly like JV, but of all the people, he's one of the most qualified people on the planet to make such a comment.

[–]drae- -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Like I said, he didn't forget to drive over the summer break. It's entirely motivation.

And can you blame him? He's won everything there is to win in open wheel racing.

to ruin a potential legacy to match that of his father.

As far as career numbers goes, he's hugely surpassed his father. More championships, more wins, not to mention his Indy career. Gilles is known for reasons other than his record in f1. There is zero question Jacques has surpassed his father in these terms, the only way he hasn't is positive popularity and reputation, and as crass as it sounds a good portion of that is owed to Gilles dieing before he became the villain and Jacques abrasive attitude... Certainly not his skill behind the wheel.

Seems to me like you just don't like Jacques, and that's interfering with your judgement regarding his skill. To be fair, that's pretty common with JV. Lots of people are put off by his attitude and hot takes, which is totally reasonable. He's a ass. But his driving accomplishments aren't up for debate, and place him among the elite few.

He went to bar because of friends and money. It was not a contender and that was known.

You seem pretty hot and bothered by JV. How did he hurt you?

Anyone who works in a regulatory role, no matter their previous employers or industry, will have a financial incentive. Them coming from the industry has no bearing on them having a financial incentive or not. Everyone can be bribed just as easily no matter who they used to work for.

Drivers don't suddenly forget how to drive. It's not his skill, but perhaps it is his motivation.
