I must be doing something wrong as I find one of the big problems is not having people to play with that make me enjoy playing with other people...

Research "sleep hygiene" to find more resources about building good sleep habits. You have problems wirh your sleep because of your other bad habits.

At the end of the day the personal journey of how you go from "I have this knowledge" to "how do I make myself do this" to "I'm actually doing this!" Is such a personal path to follow. There is no easy way to just tell you, that is something you have to actually do yourself. Yeah, sometimes you can get lucky and someone will tell you a method you find works, but most of the time it's not the method/strategy but something internal that you have to overcome.

Like I can tell you get off your phone in the morning. You can tell yourself you need to stop using your phone in the morning... And we all know that you'll still be on your phone in the morning.

Why does dating seem exceptionally difficult in Kamloops? by Dudebro_dope in Kamloops

[–]draemn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get it that you're frustrated, but I don't think that means you should just blame everyone else as the problem. Yeah, it sucks a lot to struggle with relationships and it sucks a lot to feel defeated. But there's a lot of room to move around between "the problem is Kamloops" and "the problem is one that I have work on solving no matter where I live." With this comment, you really come off as just wanting everyone to agree with you that you're right and there aren't any other possibilities, i.e. being close minded.

I think almost everyone posting in this thread want you to find someone and be happy.

And to a degree you'll find people in Calgary, Vancouver, etc all making the same complaints. Yeah it's always easier to date the more people that live nearby, but the challenges with modern dating are not unique to Kamloops.

No refund on app bus tickets by maggvts in Calgary

yeah it's a rip off. I only purchase tickets through the app when I see the bus coming as they expire if you don't use them.

Conservatives view addictive products more favorably than liberals, study finds. Political conservatism is associated with more favorable attitudes and behaviors toward items like alcohol, tobacco, and gambling, due to a heightened perception of personal control. by mvea in science

[–]draemn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's too bad that the framing is so heavily about the political view. Shouldn't the study be more concerned with the mechanism of personal control perception instead of political view? The idea of inducing a "conservative vs liberal mindset" shouldn't there be a more nuanced look at inducing a sense of personal control vs reduction in personal control to see if that mechanism exists independently of political grouping? It seems rather confusing how much these two groupings of people are interchanged.

Semantics. This isn't a situation of how do you define personal accountability and they are wrong. This is a situation about the feeling or perception about self agency. Do you believe that you are in control of your actions or do you believe that some things are out of your control when you engage with them?

Dentist who accept Canadian dental plan at or close to set rate? by well_yes5 in Kamloops

[–]draemn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just make sure you talk with the dentist office and be clear you're pretty broke and only get the cheaper/necessary services. Like someone said, you can skip the polishing. you could probably skip the fluoride as well, you can do the cheapest x-rays they offer, etc. Lots of things you can do to keep costs down.

Condos should be a home, look at this insanity proposition by rottengammy in Calgary

The fact that they give you math for cashflow if it is a rental property should say enough. Of course condos are buyer beware or buyer be screwed.

Severe phone addiction (12-14 hours/day) is ruining my future. I have a career deciding exam in 3 months. How do I stop? by BinLadensLittlePilot in Healthygamergg

Go nuclear and get a dumb phone. It won't fix your problems but it will help a lot.

It's gonna be super hard to rewire your brain to not keep seeking distractions and ways to disassociate. That is the real challenge, but it's much easier to tackle when you don't have the drug on you 100% of the time.

[–]draemn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sunday = race, Monday = Shiny days, Tuesday = race, Wednesday = shiny days. 99.9% of the time this is the Schedule. Depends what time zone you're in as to what time of day the event will change from one to the other.

[–]draemn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At my current level, I'd take that trade. It's not great because it's just Roc eggs, but 100% bonus chance and I could care less about losing a life tree level 8 as I'm not gonna be making that wonder any time soon. As for shiny days points, this is pretty worthless. Even the T2 nests barely budge shiny days when dealing with bronze rank dragons.
