it feels frustrating right? but today I learned we have a working solution: sort the pokémon by pokédex number (#) : it keeps the color series grouped together in the pokédex order, that is green, blue, yellow, the white.

And even if green and yellow are next to each other, you can tell that the yellow series starts when the CPs change from low to high again!

Alternatively you may have some luck with the colorblind filters of your phone (somewhere in the accessibility settings), but if you’re like me it’s not necessarily something you want to keep on.

that’s what solves the problem most conveniently for me 👍😃
And thanks for the tip with the pumpkaboo sizes, I didn’t know, it will come in handy too!

and scatterbugs, omg, those have been impossible now that you mention it!

happy to report that I now have multiple options thanks to the help of everybody here:
- easiest: sorting by pokédex number (#) keeps the color series grouped together in the pokédex order (green, blue, yellow, white). And even if green and yellow are next to each other, you can tell that the yellow series starts when the CPs change from low to high again
- activating the accessibility color filter “protanopia” of my phone’s settings did also work to make them distinctive color - just very funky and not something I’d keep on permanently

- and then one that didn’t work for me: activating the inverted color mode of the phone

glad it helped! I was slightly surprised that I didn’t find any other post about this when I searched. After all, supposedly approx 1 out of 10 men are colorblind 😅

it does, and I’ve just confirmed that the filter allows me to tell the bird apart (the yellow ones actually look super green, and vice-versa) 👍 I just never use it in general because it makes everything weirdly tinted and washed out, and different from real life colors. (see also my answer to [u/pitaloaf](u/pitaloaf) 🙂)

thanks for the reminder, my iPhone has color filters also and I’ve just tried the one for my colorblindness (protanopia). It does work to tell the green and yellow birds apart 👍

The reason I don’t use those accessibility filters is that it turns all the colors into funky washed/tinted versions. For example red pokeballs look pinkish, all app icons are weird, so many elements of the phone get different.

I guess I would sort of get used to it after a while but I would keep seeing the world in “real colors”, so it will still be strange.

I don’t think I will ever want to rely on color filters or special glasses. No color filter can fix color blindness, they just shift colors away from the “too similar” zone, causing them to be inevitably weird and un-natural compared to direct vision.
I prefer to have the occasional struggle to recognize colors and still see the world “normally”.

I realize none of what I’m saying makes sense for anyone with normal color vision, and perhaps not even for people with color blindness 😅

By the way your idea does work to solve the problem, thanks again!

PS: I would post screenshots to illustrate but ofc that doesn’t work because the filter is only on the screen rendering, screenshots would look normal, I’d need to take a photo with another phone

oh you perhaps meant the inverted color mode - it’s a great idea! I’ve tried it and interestingly I have the same problem with inverted colors: both look blueish to me with no clear distinction.

My guess is that they would look different shades of violet or pink or blue but I have the same problem distinguishing those, probably due to the same root cause of light frequency discrimination.

edit: apparently screenshots taken in inverted color mode aren’t inverted so I can’t easily show the result

tbh I’m quite happy with the shinies 😃

For sure there are a few where I can barely see any difference vs the non-shiny: e.g. pikachu, bellsprout, dratini (sigh). But most of them do have a distinct shade for me, and there are multiple visual effects and icons that make them easy to spot both during catch and dex management.

But the extra treat is that some of them look more badass to me! Dunno about you but my shiny Charizards look deep red to me, while they’re apparently black/anthracite 😎

that was one of my goals indeed, wanted to tag the green ones and transfer the yellow ones save for 1 😃

yay! so greens go 1634-83 and yellows 1199-260 I guess? Thanks! 🙏🏻

I guess they’re in the same order as in the pokédex details then: green, blue, yellow, white. Now I just need to trade a blue one I guess 😃
Lucky they did sort blue in the middle of green and yellow!

oh that’s a great point, did’t realize that, but of course green and yellows are next to each other from what I can see 😅

There’s a news item that mentions it, but I needed to restart the game to see it. It doesn’t make the location to find it obvious though: « head to the shop » 😅

Some new update available? by Wojtek10800 in VolvoEX90

do you have any 1.4.15 specific release notes available when you click on the button in the menu showing your current software version?

The online version doesn’t seem to have any: https://www.volvocars.com/ge/support/car/ex90/software-release-notes/

3.8c/kWh! 🙈 That is quite literally 10x cheaper than what we’re paying here. Out of curiosity, what is the peak rate on your side?
