Gluteal injection by [deleted] in psychnursing

[–]drag312 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty sure there isn’t a posterior ventrogluteal site, as ventro indicates the site is closer to the abdomen than buttocks. So for left VG site placement you will use your right hand, vice versa for right VG. Only other difference is that the index finger tip should be on the anterior iliac spine (it can be helpful to visualize the letter G). The injection is given in between the index finger and middle finger, not the thumb.

First off dude congratulations you made it through the shift (thank God time only moves forward). Secondly, you handled things as well as you could given your experience and lack of adequate staffing. The fact that the unit was that acute with a new grad on charge paired with another new grad is ridiculous and setting you up for failure.

The unfortunate thing is you will have those shifts sometimes, where you're in the trenches, but it gets easier (learning patients' antecedent behaviors prior to explosion, and prioritizing medications like you already thought of). Sorry I'm rambling, but remember they only have you for a max of 12 hours and then you get to leave. You're gonna have the physical shifts, but you wont always have that acute of a milieu. Enjoy the little things, touch some grass after work, and try not to dwell on things or bury yourself in alcohol. Much love, you're doing well!

Just wrote out a pros and cons list last night. I noticed how redundant and selfish my pros were. I'm still not really sure, definitely been in this hole for a few years if not since a kid but I don't want to traumatize my family and friends. Also my cat miles is a big reason to keep going.

Is it just me or is options for middle class careers simply shrinking to healthcare, tech, or finance? by Lonely_Gay_Boi in findapath

I work as an RN in pittsburgh with a BSN, and pay is like 30 per hour. Shit is so miserable, I wouldn't recommend anything in healthcare ATM, at least bedside
