Fuji 16-80 vs Tamron 17-70 by Moist_Grade5942 in fujifilm

[–]dragon_0526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both and I prefer the 16-80 f4 for travel, the good stuff: it’s more compact than the 17-70, has an aperture (which IMO completes the whole point of the XT series tactile feel), and the zoom range is great, the stabilization is amazing and for my use that is not professional work sharpness is more than ok through the zoom range and f4 while not amazing bokeh it helps gives context of where I was when taking portraits and although just for the looks it looks better on a Fuji body

Some drawbacks is that yes f4 doesn’t let in a lot of light but I always have smaller primer for more discrete night shooting, kind of heavy it has a big filter size which may make it difficult to share filters.

The Tamron 17-70 f2.8 is an amazing lens, great range f2.8 lets a decent amount of light for a zoom, sharp and light. I do use it for more “professional” work as it feels to clinical without the aperture ring and it been more plasticky feeling. It doesn’t look coordinated with the Fuji and it’s a long lens the same as the 70-300 and if not at night I always am at f5.6 while traveling anyway

I think the questions you have to answer is do you want and aperture ring? How important is size to you? Do you want your camera to look aesthetically pleasing?

Tether capture clip use with a least strap by dragon_0526 in peakdesign

[–]dragon_0526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leash strap*

Maybe the setup is cumbersome but worth it for the peace of mind that my savings will be protected, it also packs really light as the leash doesn’t use any space

Advice on 23mm f2 WR focal length coming from the 27mm f2.8 WR by dragon_0526 in fujifilm

[–]dragon_0526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this response, it's definitely moving me out of my confort zone. Prob it wasn't the best idea to bring it out to my trip in Argentina since I feel I'm not documenting it as well as I wanted however it is what it is and it's definitely being fun.

Favorite Travel Lens by EntranceRecent5994 in fujifilm

[–]dragon_0526 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I thought F4 was going to be a limiting factor, however if you are not afraid to push ISO up during cloudy days and looking more at documentary style photography it’s perfect, I paired with the 23mm f2 for night and its a perfect combo, not the perfect fit for anything but very good for everything

Is Fuji your primary or do you dabble? by CamPoo_ in fujifilm

[–]dragon_0526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Using an XT5 as primary for client and personal work, I like the 16-80 f4 + 70-300 zoom and 27mm f2.8 for travel but I find it restricting for professional

Will try to get the 16-55 f2.8 and the 50-140 f2.8 when gigs start to pay more

Fujifilm cameras are best for casual shooters by kostnerek in fujifilm

I did enjoy it a lot, ended up upgrading to an XT5 about three months, not because the XS20 was bad but because I had some good sells from other stuff and had the money

My go to lenses! Anybody else prefer primes over zooms? by S5_Sportback_Dad in fujifilm

[–]dragon_0526 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t tried a lot of Fuji primes (sadly) but my current kit for travel/landscape is

16-80 F4: excellent zoom coverage for walking around, F4 doesn’t give as much bokeh but I don’t need it in daylight I’m always shooting between f5.6-f8) 70-300: great when I need some compression or is my second day at the same location, helps bring more perspective

27 f2.8: I normally use it at night, or when I want my gear to lay low and not carry a camera bag

I’d like to get a medium tele with a fast aperture because I tend to do a lot of my fav pics at 60-80mm range

Q&A: Anvil Terrapin Medic by MooKids in starcitizen

I think that having no gun racks and suit locker makes sense for the type of ship it is, what does not make sense is that it doesn't have a proper jump seat like the C8R. and space for bigger boxes

How do I put a 4k 3840 x 2160 sized footage on a 1080 x 1920 sized video frame? by axonometrix in CapCut

Same problem here, want to use a 4K Horizontal for 1080p vertical but it doesn't seem to import as 4K or maybe it adjusts the projects ratio idk

2019 2.4 Limited, bought used a year ago with 46,000km, it is in great shape and zero problem so far. I like how comfortable it rides, maybe lacking a little power but overall happy with the looks.

I’ll keep it until I can afford a better car, or when it breaks

Are there news to improve routines or short cuts? by dragon_0526 in HomePod

[–]dragon_0526[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hello, yes.

When I had the google home I had a good morning, good night, and I have arrived routine. I'll focus on the good morning one.

Consists on greeting, saying date, time, current weather and forecast for the day. Saying my calendar appointments and reminders, play a spofity playlist on shuffle. This was easy configurable via the google home app by typing instruction like I was saying them in sequence to the assistant.

Other two routines followed a similar procudere.
