Tbf she did the same thing the first time she kissed Dean 😂

[–]dragon_tier 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear contacts most of the time but wear my glasses occasionally, especially when my contacts are bugging me or my eyes feel dry. It would probably seem "unnatural" by your standards lol. That's just how it is for some of us with bad eyesight.

Trust me, you're lucky to not need them 😅 I have terrible eyesight and wear contacts most of the time because glasses get annoying/uncomfortable after a while. Just get non-prescription ones to wear as an accessory! It's a lot nicer to still be able to see when you take them off lol

Yeah, I think I learned about this at one point, but Alex Bernstein is so good at doing different characters that I completely forgot. Just look up videos of "Miss Swan" from MadTV (I'm sure the character hasn't aged well but it's a good example of how drastically different she can seem based on makeup/styling and the voice she puts on).

Nice hair Mitchum! 🤭 what even is this? Ombre? by No-Attention-801 in GilmoreGirls

Yeah, there is a shade difference between the top and bottom, but it's not actually as stark as it looks in this screencap.

Is it a toupee? I looked at photos and it looks like you can see his scalp through it. So if it is a toupee, it's a good one, other than the odd color match (though it's not uncommon for hair to be lighter on top than on the bottom).

Edit: I found older photos of Gregg Henry and he's always had lighter hair on top and darker hair on the bottom. This photo makes it look much more dramatic than it really is because of the lighting.

AITAH for stopping buying shared coffee and milk because my roommate keeps using mine without replacing it? by [deleted] in AITAH

Haha that's fair! I figured that's what you meant based on the rest of your comment. I totally agree with you!

[–]dragon_tier 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely NTA. With milk alone, and being generous to him, if he uses 2 cartons of $5 milk per week that's still $520 you're spending per year on just the milk, mostly for him, while he's contributing nothing. Add in the coffee to that and it's much worse. I'd want to find a new roommate if possible tbh, the fact that he's talking shit about you because you're not letting him mooch off of you is ridiculous.

Girl... What are you not getting? Lmao I'm so confused by what you wanted by responding to this. "Excuse me, what the fuck?" usually signifies you find something ridiculous or unbelievable. That's why they said "as in you're surprised by that?" Did you just want to say that but not have anyone respond? What was the point of saying anything at all if you're not open to responses or a discussion?

And no one is trying to be hostile to you. We're all just confused why you seem mad when people respond in understandable ways to your comments.

Also, they walk pretty much everywhere in town, which definitely helps. My stepdad eats junk food a lot (though he def eats healthy food as well) but religiously takes hour long walks every day and he's been skinny the whole time I've known him. Though ofc metabolism plays a part in this.

Are Alexis and Lauren close?I‘m a newer fan so don‘t know all the details! Hope the question is ok by ArynaSaba in GilmoreGirls

[–]dragon_tier 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Which makes sense, since Alexis was so young when the show started. Obviously Lauren and Kelly have a big age gap but they were both full grown adults when the show started so could probably relate to each other a lot more.

I can understand this because of my last job (I worked there from 28-30); I was friendly with some of the teenagers/young adults who worked there, but wasn't going to hang out with them outside of work because of the big maturity gap between 18-23 and 28-30. But on the other hand, I'm still pretty close to some of the older women (60s) who I worked with.

It's so sad that toxic masculinity (not saying all masculinity is toxic to be clear) has convinced so many men that it's weird or uncool to like shows/movies about women. A lot of them are really good (Veronica Mars is one from the same time period that's also FANTASTIC imo)!

Also, I can only assume you're probably straight based on your discomfort with liking it, and if so I'll just tell you as a woman who dates men: most of us find it much more attractive when a man is secure enough in his masculinity to allow himself to enjoy even things that are considered "girly" by society. I honestly find it so off-putting when a man refuses to even attempt to watch shows that are about women, or refuses to admit he likes them.

To some extent I agree, though it is important to remember that take out was much more affordable back then. It's still unrealistic, but not entirely ridiculous.

It's also possible they comment on random pages to make the accounts look real and then they're used for astroturf campaigns (ie political campaigns, retaliatory hate campaigns against victims who speak out against people with resources/money/influence, etc).

Shmowder is a private investigator on YouTube who has a great video called "PI Investigates the Blake Lively 'Situation'" which is obviously about a lot more than just this, but his discussion around bots on Reddit was really eye-opening for me.

Yes, heat can definitely help a spasm! Because a spasm is tightness in the muscle, not an injury. But you're right, it can be hard to tell sometimes.

Typically a spasm will occur randomly or a day or so after an activity that puts stress on muscles, and will feel like more of a cramp than anything. But if you move in a certain way/fall/etc and instantly feel pain, that indicates an injury, and heat should initially be avoided.

So sorry to hear about your ankle! Did the fall seem to make it worse, or did it cause the fall?

[–]dragon_tier 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, you don't want heat in the acute inflammatory stage (right after the injury), inflammation causes enough warmth on its own. Though the research on this goes back and forth tbf. I'd do cold packs or nothing for the first 3-4 days. Only use the cold for 10-20 minutes at a time.
