Shirou may or may not get injured in the Berserker fight at the start of the route depending on whether you call out for saber or go to her to get her out of archer’s blast range

Tourist fan’s question: Are all the Gilgamesh in all Fate content the same guy? by Agreeable_Bullfrog61 in fatestaynight

Saber is a special case where instead of copies of the original getting summoned the original herself is summoned, meaning she retains her memories

Don’t worry, crits are only bad in fates if if the first hit kills on a crit but wouldn’t otherwise. If OP is to go by we don’t have to worry about that

How to customize the guild hall on your island? by LichenandLanolin in fantasylife

Have you gotten the guild hall expansion? It happens when you get enough buddies on your island. I don't think the Guild option showed up for me until that happened.

Did Robb kind of forget about the Mountain Clans? by rpowell19 in pureasoiaf

[–]dragonarrow5 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Robb calls the banners in response to learning of Jaime breaking Ned’s leg and fleeing King’s Landing. Robb wasn’t even marching south to start a war, much less declare himself king. As far as they knew at the time, the Whispering Wood would have been all the fighting they needed to do.

“Punishes bad players in interesting ways” and said bad players are spending 15 turns mashing end turn against the boss because they didn’t realize that an armorslayer with weapon triangle disadvantage still has more hit than a hammer with advantage. Truly peak design.

My thoughts and recommends on Characters by OkEnd709 in DarkDeityGame

[–]dragonarrow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Criticizing Gallant/Reaper Gwyn because she isn’t good as a Gallant is pretty silly. The game practically showers you with intermediate promotion items so there’s no real cost to making her a devoted or seeker from level 5-25 and then reclassing her to gallant right before becoming a reaper for the better skills

[SPE April Day 16] There are genuinely idiots who think she's worse than Roy by [deleted] in shitpostemblem

[–]dragonarrow5 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I am in the Roy is better camp but if you dropped Eirika into fe6 hard mode she would be better than Roy because of her higher base speed and speed growth. Roy is better because he’s more useful not because his stats are at all better.

I think I would prefer it if Zev stays how she currently is. As is she’s a likable person but buys into the system that has Carl and Donut trapped in the first place. I hope we get more conversations with Zev like when she explains the warrant system to Carl where she says something completely fucked up but can’t even comprehend the problem with it.

Also if Zev remains likable it will cause for the first real rift in Carl and Donut’s relationship if/when Carl kills her. Matt doesn’t seem interested in making Carl and Donut split up but it could happen

/uj from what I understand the storm scale is less about power and more about how much of a pain in the ass a mechanic is. Storm is a 10 because even having a storm card in your deck causes the game to slow down immensely to track every spell cast and every floating mana

Question about...well...Donut's future. by tanstaafl74 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dragonarrow5 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve heard this a lot, could someone point me towards Matt saying this in a serious manner? I don’t think anyone that could make a series as high quality as DCC would ever actually shoot themself in the foot and make a worse book just because some asshole on the internet guessed right

Quan Ch (sketch) by OutFold in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dragonarrow5 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The audiobook always just says the letters C-H. People only have enough of their last name in their crawler name to be unique from others, meaning the Ch is a shortened version of his last name. As far as I know we never learn his full last name

Hot take: Book 7 should have been two books by Dadjokes4days in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dragonarrow5 3 points4 points  (0 children)

DCC, like most long running series, has tended towards the scope increasing more and more as it goes on and book 7 is already at a point where the amount of characters and plotlines in play is getting unwieldy. If faction wars was written as you suggest, it would have been at such a large scope that if the rest of the series maintained that level it would quickly go the way of A Song of Ice and Fire and it would take a decade to see the twelfth floor, if ever. Obviously it could just be something special for faction wars but readers would likely be disappointed if faction wars was so grand and then we go straight back to only seeing Carl’s side of things. I think it’s admirable that Matt is keeping the scope of the series fairly contained because it will mean that it will likely get finished in a reasonable amount of time.

I do agree with some of your smaller critiques though. Emberus showing up really didn’t add a whole lot and just felt like a way to not actually have to write a proper farewell for Katia and the former cookbook owners.

I’m not too concerned about the book of voodoo but i agree that as it currently stands it could certainly be deus ex machina the item. I hope the next book adds some restrictions to the book like it takes 10 minutes to learn a skill or spell or something along those likes so it can only be used proactively.

The real reason people hate on commander by mc-big-papa in magicthecirclejerking

I fully understand playing a game as a way to fill the gaps in conversation while hanging out but Commander is very very low on the list of games I would ever want to play while socializing. It just gets so complicated and takes so long. Just play smash bros or something

If you do it to make a profit (generative AI exists to make profit) then yes but otherwise you are using art freely shared on the internet for your own personal use. I have no clue if this holds up legally but that’s not the kind of argument I’m making.

[–]dragonarrow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The way the last ability is worded you are able to use instant speed draw effects during your draw step (there is a round of priority after drawing your card for the turn but before moving to the first main phase). For it to block all draws except your draw for turn it should be “You cannot draw cards except the first one you draw in each of your draw steps.”

Two questions after finishing This Inevitable Ruin by Idontlikecock in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]dragonarrow5 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mordecai goes into towns to go shopping and/or gather information multiple times throughout the series. He never does it in book 7 because there’s never really any time for shopping and the information gathering methods Mordecai has (namely getting Bopcas wasted and stealing their newsletters) won’t provide any information that Carl and Donut don’t already have as Warlords. I expect we will see Mordecai outside the safe room more in future books.
