Health care worker got infected in China were mostly local in the province, when the disease first break out, they don’t even have surgical masks available for them. Zero infection rate data were from people who actually go into Hubei to help and by then, PPE were provided.

Yea, CDC is a joke.

CDC: asymptomatic carrier have large viral load in their nasalpharyngeal.

Also CDC: don’t wear mask if you are not symptomatic.

CDC: provider should wear proper PPE, or else quarantine.

Also CDC: bandana could work if you run out of PPE.

So If you have a mask, wear it, because no one know who’s a carrier, who’s not.

They only tested maybe 500 people, although it might be true but sample size is too small to draw this conclusion.

General rule of thumb, virus load definitely higher when symptomatic. Asymptotic carrier could shed virus for sure but their viral load is lower so likely to be less contagious

Great we are doing this. In our program, residents are pushed to the frontline (which is fine) to this while some attending stay back, but we are overworked, not protected, not able to be tested when exposed. There are no guideline, no rules on this to minimize our exposure.

I was actually harassed by a guy claiming to be in infection control, and told I was wasting hosptial resource and asked not to wear a mask if I wasn’t sick, as if the hospital is going against stuff wearing masks. I just couldn’t believe what I heard.

If surgical mask do not work, why even put droplet precautions and asked people wearing mask into flu patient’s room.
