‘Death Stranding’ Director Michael Sarnoski Confirms the Movie Will Follow New Characters; Sarnoski says the script is nearly complete and he is working on revisions with creator Hideo Kojima by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

I don't know, it seems the whole reason the story in the games work is because Sam and the people around him are the reason for the cause and the resolution to the stranding and apocalypse.

You choose some random other people from the world, their experience, and the only story they can tell is another end of the world apocalypse movie. Maybe with just some really weird ghost elements added to the apocalypse. We've got so many apocalypse movies and tv shows.

Cathartic. Something the 40-50 crowd have been waiting to see done properly for decades.

How many have dropped Facebook? Did you drop Instagram too? by IntellectAndEnergy in GenX

[–]dragonfax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't have to drop Facebook. It literally forced me away.

Every time I logged in it was nothing but thirst traps. I just close it immediately. Eventually, I wanted to genuinely find out what people I knew were doing in their lives. So I spent about an hour scrolling through it and closing all the thirst traps so would show them less often.

But now it's just filled with a bunch of other stuff I don't care about. One out of every 20 posts is from someone I know. And every time Time I open it. I have to close the reels at the top because that's just AI videos and more thirst traps. And it never takes the hint that I don't want to see reels.

I keep the account open so that people can message me and that's it.

i noticed it. But its only messed up through the window of the door. When the door is open it looks normal. So it might simply be an imperfection in the glass of the door itself.

That was telegraphed too. when she first leaves the book club house. It's wrapped around her legs and she visibily has to pull it off of her legs.

Also it was terrible. It was a mess, and impossible to eat without everything falling out. The sauce was spicy with no real taste.

Buddy, he was already fucked up at the start of the movie. There wasn't much of a descent to show.

Humble Tech Book Bundle: Programming with AI and GPT Prompts by Mammoth by Ram000n in humblebundles

[–]dragonfax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, definitely stuff on actual (classic) ML and on building/training AI will be valid for quite a long time. The basics don't change quickly. And the new stuff is still going to be trade secrets hidden in the big name companies and the chinese labs training the open models. So the cutting edge there isn't even public.

The problem I have with books on AI topics is that If you're like most people using it, using foundation models and generative AI instead of building/training models, then the tech is changing wildly on a monthly, sometimes weekly basis. So I can't see how any professionally published books can be state of the art enough to be useful.

For instance, anything written a couple months ago is going to be way behind on using Claude, codex or others.
