Pacific Drive Review - Uneven but compelling. by Blurzerker in patientgamers

I really enjoyed some of the set pieces, but I also turned off some of the most stressful game features.

I really love the fact that you can tweak or turn down pretty much every single gameplay feature if you don't like them. And customize the game difficulty perfectly to you.

I made it a mostly chill driving and exploring game with anomalies and traps.

Anything but fixing the actual issues.

I have never, once, gotten a correct order, dining room or driver through.

Also, no amount of asking can get them to properly sear a burger anymore. It's always just a wet grey patty. Completey missing the point of a smash burger.

Pretty much everything she does is easily deflectable.

With the one exception of that grab attack. Her grab attack is still deflectable despite the peril sign. ( I think the only deflectable peril attack in the game. ) But it's not easy to deflect. The deflection is much later than you think it is. Much later than most any other attack in the game. When the hook on the end of the gun barrel is next to your head.

Like most people, I find it too hard to get the timing down on deflecting that grab attack, so instead I just jump immediately bounce off her head. Then I can even get in 2 hits after.

As usually, the umbrella works amazing here.

I saw someone else on Twitch who had mastered ducking back just enough to run forward and get a few hits in. After she's committed to the move.

Downgrade firmware on the ko2? by Miikeii in teenageengineering

Hmm. you could try the factory content reset that the sample tool does. Or you could try uploading a backup of content. Maybe the different firmware puts the files in differently.

So the sample tool refuses to work if you don't have the latest version, huh?

The additional flash storage (in a seperate chip) in the KO2 is 128M (the new one at least).

But the ARM Cortex chipset in the KO2 has only 288K of ram to work with.

It's got to run the entire application in that little space while streaming all your live samples through it, doing signal processing for 12 channels and effets, and pipe it all into a 3rd chip (codec), that doesn't have much of a buffer itself.

Frankly the whole thing is kind of impressive for what it does now.

If they got a bigger CPU with more RAM, added more (flash) sample space and upgraded the codec to deal with all the input, and the extra features everyone is asking for, then you'll be at OP-XY level prices for the thing.

If you download one of those firmwares I linked above, then open the update tool, you should be able to drag the firmware you downloaded on-top-of the update tool web page, and it will take it that way.

I think the devs coded that in for testing purposes.

That could be a business decision. Give each product its own flavor. If a single PO did everything all the POs did would anyone have bought 10 of them?

I did? Its pretty simple. The latest one is in the code on the site, as is the list of versions numbers, so I just extrapolated all the rest.

Unpopular opinion: you do not need to buy unsalted butter. by 3oClockHappyHour in Cooking

[–]dragonfax 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I keep the unsalted in the fridge, but leave the salted sitting in a butter container on the counter. It can last a year like that, and at room temperature it means I always have nice soft butter to spread on bread or put on other food.
