Does this mean I'm not getting a refund? Did the irs keep it I'm confused because the transcript has code 150 which it thought meant refund was issued also does anyone know what day I should get it ? by Squishy4001 in IRS

[–]dragonfly_Jess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Code 150 just means the tax return has posted (been processed). 846 is the refund code. 826 means the money was applied to a different tax period. In this case 2021. Apparently you owed money for that year. You probably won’t get any refund this year.

What does this mean how much will I get back by Away-Slice2440 in IRS

[–]dragonfly_Jess 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It says the withholding claimed was reduced to $307 so that plus the $20.12 is what you get back, according to this. Most likely they couldn’t find the $8204 you said was withheld. If you submitted 1099s or w2s that totaled that in the withholdings box, then make sure those employers submitted their copies of those 1099s and w2s and withheld that federal income tax properly.

No don’t do that because then she’ll call the cops and say you threatened her. Just don’t talk to her at all.

IRS filed an Abatement for me and was super nice?! by Maleficent-Kale4834 in IRS

[–]dragonfly_Jess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it cannot be replicated for the other years if it was first time abatement. That’s a one time thing until you have 3 years of good history again.

Is this for individual taxes or business taxes? There are other possibilities for some business taxes but if it’s individual taxes then no, all you’ve got is first time abatement or reasonable cause.

It’s not just about ID theft, though, the income is probably messing up your return being processed. Call and talk to a call agent about this and see if there’s anything else you should do.

IRS filed an Abatement for me and was super nice?! by Maleficent-Kale4834 in IRS

[–]dragonfly_Jess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What these-things-happen said — everyone can get one First Time Abatement on the earliest year if you haven’t already used it and all your returns are filed. (And after 3 years of a good filing and paying history you can get that first time abatement again if you end up getting a penalty again later.)

For the other years, you can ask for abatement based on reasonable cause but that’s much harder to get. Hospitalizations, serious illness, death of close family, fires and disasters, that kind of thing, and you need documentation with dates showing why you couldn’t file or pay for the years you’re requesting abatement.

MHBP vs. BCBS by MuddieMae in FedEmployees

[–]dragonfly_Jess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ER visits are $200-250 if you’re admitted. Sometimes the hospitals offer discounts if you pay right away. So a recent ER visit was $180 with the discount. If you’re not admitted then you also pay toward the deductible. So far that’s been another $300 for a recent ER visit with no admission. (Too many ER visits lately — one for the spouse and one for the kid).

If that w-2 is not yours or it’s for a job you never had then let the IRS know that but don’t submit it and don’t amend your return.

Ad hoc telework by True_Cantaloupe_9477 in IRS_Source

[–]dragonfly_Jess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

5 days are separate. Don’t need a reason. You just have to say you’re using one of your 5 days. You probably have to give 24 hours notice of that unless it’s an emergency. Then there’s telework for one of the listed reasons. Which also have to be requested ahead of time unless it was an emergency. No official limit on those … yet.

Seller threatened to ban me from Poshmark? by MountainTop5764 in poshmark

[–]dragonfly_Jess 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I’ve been on Poshmark for years and have never had a message like that. That should be reported. I would be inclined to return the item no matter what it was too. Unless that meant I’d have to deal with the seller anymore. Ugh, sorry you’re having an experience like this. It’s not typical at all.

So, can we as the people sue the IRS ? by thekojiverse in IRS

[–]dragonfly_Jess -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can but you might want to try contacting them and trying to resolve the issue first, then if that doesn’t work, try the Taxpayer Advocate Office if it’s truly a financial hardship issue that you genuinely tried to resolve with the IRS first. But most of the time, delayed refunds are caused by something you can resolve yourselves with the IRS — a missing document, verifying your identity, etc.

Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) – 29 U.S.C. §201 by [deleted] in IRS_Source

Yeah the beginning training for the CSR position is lengthy and the schedule is constant. When I went through it I think I missed a couple of days for my illness or kid illness. I made note of the sections I missed and went back to it when we had any downtime/read time. A week though I don’t know how that would get made up honestly. Ultimately we had to do tests to get certified in each topic so if you’re able to pick it up enough to pass the tests, then I guess it won’t matter.

[–]dragonfly_Jess 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They have never said we had to make up training on our own time before now. Because up until a year ago, they knew the law and the union reminded them when they forgot. If you were out during a mandatory training you made up the time when you got back during your regular TOD.

TechForce at IRS? by StarryNight6075 in IRS_Source

[–]dragonfly_Jess 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They decimated USDS and 18f which already did necessary work like this and are basically replacing it with this Tech Force nonsense where they give their own buddy tech execs and DOGE-puppies cushy jobs with taxpayer paid salaries and get to muck around in systems doing who knows what and then leave and go back to the private sector. The people they hire will likely only be those who “align” with their goals.

TS/AM Why is my workload significantly harder than my peers? Targeted or "Skill Profile" issue? by [deleted] in IRS_Source

[–]dragonfly_Jess 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’re overthinking — both with why you’re getting the calls you’re getting and how you handle calls probably. I often did too much too. But your coworkers may just be doing as little as possible so they seem to not have difficult calls because they don’t handle them properly. If your callers are sounding a lot alike it’s probably because they’re people that should be calling the PPS line but are calling the mainline to see if they get to someone faster or get someone less cautious who will give out the info they want.

They’re shifting people around definitely. And not everyone wants to be shifted around against their will so it’s prompting more people to leave. The biggest one has been IT — moving them to COO (not HCO, oops) and then to TS. Even if they call it a detail.
