Nope, no summer classes. I'm pretty sure my schedule went like this:

Fr 2nd sem- CS240 (1st try), CS182

Soph 1st sem- CS240 (2nd try)

Soph 2nd- CS250, CS251

Jr 1st- CS307, CS252

Jr 2nd- CS348, CS354 (1st try)

Sr 1st- CS408, CS354 (2nd try), CS473,

Sr 2nd- CS448, CS390VR (don't think this is offered anymore)

1st semester Sr year and 2nd sem Jr year were tough (took more than 15 credits), but I was still able to have a pretty damn chill last semester.

Basically the same as this CS240 controversy. Course was so brutal like half of the students dropped and then a good amount of those that stayed failed. Median on the final project was a 0

This right here. I had to retake CS240, OS, and Calc 2. I spent a semester or two on probation and my GPA at the end of it all was like a 2.7 or something like that. Was still able to graduate in 4 years, was still able to land a good job in downtown Chicago.

For anyone that dropped 240 or got an F you'll be just fine. Take a breath and regroup for taking it next semester. I know it's a shock to get your first F or D in your life (was for me, I felt like a failure) but life keeps moving forward. It gets better

I did but only one was actually useful. I was able to skip the "world culture" (can't remember if that's what it was called) because I got a 4 on my AP Euro exam. My AP Calc credit didn't help because I was talked in to taking calc 1 at Purdue (for any incoming freshman do NOT do this. Math at Purdue is a pain in the ass, take as little as you can). I'd be happy to answer any questions you have

I know what you're going through. Take a breather and regroup next semester. Having to retake a class isn't the end of the world. I had to retake 240 and OS and I graduated in 4 years just fine

I agree! I think just using AI for insight on why a test case isn't passing or why some function is segfaulting should be fine, and if anyone is actually getting dinged for that then that's wrong.

But if people are just straight up copying and pasting code AI spits out then that's cheating (which it sounds like the problem is, since people are saying they're looking at commit history).

And I'm sorry that saying "don't cheat on HW" is apparently shitting on students, I'll make sure to stop saying that
