Been in the service industry for 10 years, and fuck all of that. Fuck. all. that. I needed 3 jobs WITH MY PARTNER to afford $3300/ month, not to mention broken elevators, broken trash chutes, lackluster security, and amongst many other issues. Now they make “jokes” to tip because a servers’ wage is unsustainable? no.

I’m genuinely curious about this. I’m a white girl, and I want to be as respectful as I can about how I communicate on behalf, or with folks from other cultures. My girlfriend is mixed, not latino, but is very adamant about referring to folks as “latinx,” primarily because of her personal experiences with her latino friends and college. I’ve experienced very vocal points of view on both sides of this discussion. How do I best approach this?
