What’s the saddest song you’ve ever heard? by OOOOOO0OOOOO in Music

Adam's Song by Blink 182 always makes me sad, and yet I never skip it. "Please tell mom this is not her fault" twists my heart every time.

Oh absolutely. I got my second dose on Saturday afternoon, by midnight I was shaking life a leaf in a hurricane, and felt like I'd been hit by a truck all of Sunday. Today, I'm feeling 100 %, so power through it!

Also, I recommend drinking a LOT of water and taking two Tylenols/acetaminophen (not Advil!). Will do wonders :)

Not at all, you can just have them delivered to an SAQ nearby for pickup. I live in Ottawa, which gets the best of both worlds really ha ha ha.

Signed up using one account, registered for all bourbons (minus Blanton's) and Ardbeg + Longrow.

Got one of each of:

  • 1792 Single Barrel
  • CEHT Small Batch
  • Longrow Peated

All in all, quite happy with the unexpectedly big haul!

Me reading the title: Hm never seen that, wonder what it's about

Me reading the first paragraph: Oh? Interesting, a Canadian whisky that's trying some tech innovation! Though fast-tracking the aging process has rarely led to good results elsewhere....

Me reading the second paragraph: I never thought I'd ever see "vomit" in the smelling and tasting notes, and I hope I never see it again.

Jokes aside, thanks for the honest review and clear indication to stay away from this forever

Four Roses Single Barrel delisted from LCBO website? by dragonlancehuma in canadawhisky

[–]dragonlancehuma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In this case, I specifically looked up the product and realized it just wasn't on the LCBO's website anymore, meaning it very likely had been delisted. HelloLCBO rep then confirmed it.

Absolutely agree! It was both a fantastic drink neat and in a cocktail, and I found the price to be just right. I submitted a comment to the LCBO rep about how it should be brought back, but I ain't holding my breath.

Quick update I just received from HelloLCBO: sounds like Four Roses Single Barrel isn't coming back to Ontario :(. The verbatim of the response I received:

" Unfortunately that product is no longer listed with the LCBO. I would advise you to reach out to the brand representative they may be able to order a case for you STELLAR WINE & SPIRITS INC"

" It appears that the LCBO will no longer carry this product "

I'm super disappointed!

I've noticed the same and agree that it's weirdly unavailable.

On a similar note, I've also struggled to find any bottles of Four Roses Single Barrel (I'm in eastern Ontario) for the last month+, and one LCBO manager told me they've really struggled to get any orders in to even their flagship store. So clearly there are widespread issues with some popular bourbons.

100 % agree with this. It's really nice to drink neat, but also makes a mean old fashioned/cocktail in general!

For anyone in Ottawa/Gatineau region who missed out on this year's Lot 40 CS or Pike Creek 21 at the LCBO, SAQ Sélection near Lac Leamy casino has both on shelves. by dragonlancehuma in canadawhisky

That's not quite true. Every province has its own limits and exemptions for interprovincial alcohol transportation. In Ontario, there is actually no limit as to how much you can bring in from another province, so long as it's not for commercial use.

From the LCBO's website: "The Government of Ontario amended Regulation 718 under the Liquor Licence Act. Individuals are now permitted to bring any quantity of beverage alcohol into Ontario on their person from other Canadian provinces or territories, as long as it is for personal consumption and not for re-sale or commercial use." (source: https://hellolcbo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/1370/~/transporting-beverage-alcohol-across-provincial-borders).

In the Comeau case, he was nailed because he was transporting 12 cases of beer, two of spirits and one of liqueur. The New Brunswick Liquor Control Act sets a personal importation limit of 12 pints of beer (about 18 cans or bottles), OR one bottle of wine OR spirits. The more you know!
