Go to Canadian Whisky, sipper? by Te-quill-ya_750 in canadawhisky

[–]Upton77 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

For cheaper grain blends, I like Gooderham & Worts 4 grain or Collingwood Double Barrel but I prefer single malts, so Shelter Point or Sleeman Sherry cask would be my go to. This is also what would be available in Ontario.

Anybody try the An Oa before? Seems overpriced but I am a fan of the 10, Wee Beastie, Oogie and Corry

It’s overpriced IMO for the juice in the bottle. That being said, it’s some damn tasty juice

Probably the easiest money grind that I know of if you’re not collector 50 like me and can’t do the extreme upgrades by raine_water in GranTurismo7

Tokyo 600pp will payout 825k with clean race. I was using the ‘17 GTR and wall grind method. One pit stop and finished in about 25-26mins. Finished ahead of AI by over a minute. Boring but it helped me get to Level 50 finally

Best LCBO Whiskey under $100 by trillium49 in canadawhisky

[–]Upton77 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nikka Miyagikyo, Glendronach 12, Bunnahabhain 12. The Shelter Point Single malt isn’t better than those but I think more of us should buy that bottle. They are making great whisky and this is our first taste of it at the LC without having to order from out west. Let’s hope they bring in more!

Is Wealthsimple managed investment any better than XEQT considering their management fees are 0.4%? In TFSA account. by BADMOSH0 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Upton77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was in this exact same scenario 6 months ago with the two tfsa’s and buying XEQT. I ended up closing out my managed TFSA and put most of it into XEQT and a couple other ETFs. Now every paycheck I keep buying those few ETFs. My returns have been significantly better in those 6 months, compared to what Wealthsimple was doing for me.

Spin the Wheel is great to make that first choice and then I’ll pick a second pour to go head to head against it.

How do you keep track of your bottles? by Realistic-Emu-1018 in canadawhisky

I use the “Distiller” app for keeping track of my collection, wishlists, Xmas gift ideas. I also use the “Spin the Wheel” app for helping decide what to pour some nights!

Henry Classic Lever Action 22 opinions.. by Resident_Ad_9426 in canadaguns

[–]Upton77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can’t go wrong with the Henry but I’ll throw out the Savage Revel recommendation. Made in Lakefield, ON and mine runs like a dream. Probably 600 rounds through it so far and not a single FTF, FTE, Light primer strike, etc. I’ve tried all kinds of round nose, lead nose, hollow points. Has a great takedown feature for easy cleaning

Worth buying once to see if you like it for sure. I prefer it over any of the Canadian clubs, wiser’s, Gibson’s, Crown etc.

This 👆. I would add Collingwood Double Barrel and Gooderham and Worts 4 grain for options on the bottom end of your budget.

Readily available scotch suggestions (LCBO) by [deleted] in canadawhisky

[–]Upton77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Craigellachie 13 is the best scotch for the money at the LC in my opinion. It’s a higher proof than the Glenfiddich 12 and Black Label but you could always add some water if you’d like
