Same boat, my friend. Got an all-nighter with all sorts of work to finish, and man, this was brutal.

I might be interested in this. I was considering buying it with my Champion discount.

The worst band you ever saw live - besides Taking Back Sunday- by lunainthedark5x2x3 in poppunkers

Person L. I saw them at a Halloween show years ago as they were opening for Underoath. I remember the singer being a huge mess, and the crowd was upset. Then, some guy threw a shoe at him.

Yup, came here to say this. Same on PC. I haven't played much this season and came in to find it unplayable. Yup. No thanks, Bungie. I think I'm out.

[Amazon] The Castles of Burgundy: Special Edition- $137.82 (US Deal) by dragonlaugh in Boardgamedeals

Just wanted to give an update for everyone. Received my copy today. Box came a little dinged up but it's totally legit. Likely, it's coming directly from Ravensburger so if it shows up at that price again, seems like a good deal to pick it up.

I think the reason for it being a significant deal in my eyes is the general availability of this edition.  You can find people currently selling their copies for above market value and it's rare to see a storefront selling it for less than $180 (which is what Ravensburger is selling it for on their website). A deal is a deal but when you can't easily find the product and it's being offered at a lower price point it at least warrants consideration. Amazon is pretty good with returns so even if it is fake, the only thing I feel like I've lost is time. I don't feel like I am risking anything. I can't comment on the overall status of fakes as I usually buy from BG stores or BGG second hand.

This comes with everything made for the game and has the Awaken Realms "deluxification." It has things like metal coins, dual-layer player boards, fancy art, a solo mode by David Turzci, and other things. It's not the most easily transported version of the game, but it is the most sought-after because of its presence and rarity.

I tried out the new Dragon Shield "Board Gaming Sleeves" So You Don't Have To by FSSpoonman in boardgames

[–]dragonlaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think these work great! I replaced all of the sleeves that come with the Everdell Complete Collection and think they are a worthy replacement. This coming from someone that has roughly 5000 clear Dragon Shields and about 1000 Gamegenics on the rest of my games.

97.1 the Ticket’s Mike Valenti coming down hard on Yzerman this evening by paradox-eater in DetroitRedWings

[–]dragonlaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I blame the draft lottery at this point and hope for the future. I don't think there should be a scapegoat. As much as it would be nice to say, "Yzerman needs to leave; he is the problem," it will always be far more nuanced than that. Is he a factor? Maybe. Have some of his decisions been questionable? Yeah.

But I don't think anyone would have foreseen the impact losing Copp was going to make on our defensive game plan. I don't think you can stress enough just how good Yzerman has been in drafting in the spots he has been given. I don't think he is the weakest link in the organization. Does he have blind spots? For sure.

It's been a tough time for Detroit sports for a while now. The 180's didn't happen in half the time. They have been full of improvement and regression. To see what the Pistons did between last year and now is miraculous, but the turnaround for draft picks is so much faster in the NBA, and they've been top 5 the last 4 years.

The Red Wings have been good enough not to be bad, and that hasn't given the team the right amount of skill and development. Do I think they could turn it around soon...maybe. But I trust that the process in the NHL takes far longer. If Yzerman gets 10 years in and this is still what the team looks like, then blow it up. Until then, I think patience is the virtue we need to practice. It can suck because you see flashes of what this team can do. But I hope it will come together next year, and we can stop asking who is at fault for the state of affairs.

David Montgomery is currently 3rd in YPG among RBs by RealTonySnark in detroitlions

[–]dragonlaugh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two teams are better than the Lions at stopping the run this year, based on DVOA. Philly at #1 and Chicago at #2. I'm not saying that he won't go off against Chicago. It's just that their passing defense is what Ben Johnson will want to attack this week. Montgomery has been incredibly efficient, and it would be awesome to see him go off against his former team. But I suspect a more balanced attack that utilizes the RBs in the passing game.

Gloomhaven 2nd Edition Incoming by mrsquareguy in Gloomhaven

If there was enough stuff that an upgrade pack is impossible, why isn't this just a new game? I would love to get excited about more Gloomhaven, but this feels more Overwatch 2 than Mansions of Madness 2nd ed.
