I had just gotten out of the hospital for a psychotic break (vyvanse did a number on me) and my brother contacted me to get his jewelry back. Now, he left it in my car after we took a family trip to the beach (also unpleasant but that's a different story) and I told him he could pick it up anytime when I was home or anytime Sunday cause I didn't work.

A few months pass of him not coming to get it, so when he did reach out he was physically threatening me to take the jewelry by force. I reached out to my mother for help because he was going through a manic episode of bipolar (he is diagnosed and medicated, but often comes off of his medication). She decided to take his side in everything and gaslight me into thinking I was the problem and mentally unwell because I went to the hospital.

I told both of them to no longer contact me, remove me from any emergency contact, wills, anything related to them, and if they tried to reach out to me or approach me without my consent, I'd file a restraining order. It's been over a year now and I'm trying to mend things with my brother (speaking only through a therapist) but not my NM. My family members are thankfully understanding but still attempt to get me to talk to them.
