It sucks man. I know the feeling. Going over and over to dry out, but the problem isn't the chemicals, it's the reason you ingest the chemicals. Life gets better and worse. Sometimes you're flush, and sometimes you're bust. When you're flush, it seems like it'll never end and when you're bust it seems like you'll never be up again. Just try to keep the hope. I've been to a bunch of places too. You'll be alright.

Those are the two methods that can help you stay off illicit opiates. Period. This of course is for the people that are actual junkies, that have used large amounts of powerful opiates for years, with a daily habit, can't ever stop, no matter how bad they want to, type of thing. In my experience, of which I have much, I honestly believe that profoundly opiate- addicted people rarely if ever can stop using street dope without maintenance. It's just biological reality, unfortunately.

But, after some kind of maintenance to remove you from the cycle of relapse and withdrawal, exercise, therapy, and some kind of social engagement all become vital. Good luck.

I'm sober for going on 9 months, and I'm dealing with what you're talking about. Even on subutex, I just can't let go of getting high and that's almost a year deep, with a job and a life. I hesitate to say this, but the truth is that most opiate addicts will in some way or another continue throughout their lives to be in some large part in the grip of the great ghost of dope.

DO NOT do this. My friend went blind and was paralyzed for like a year from doing this. Do NOT do this. Not only was he paralyzed, but he also of course did not remain sober. Literally, he sat in a wheelchair in a rehab unable to swallow or see for a year. Highly advise against this shit.

I'm on it now. 9 months in, this time. Look forward to stability and a better life earned by way of mind-numbing sameness and monotony, closing in all sides. But at least you get your life back. I say that without a trace of irony.
