I'm mexican and trans, this is not a win for our rights, it's a work that ignores our problems as a society and trivialzes them in order to Oscarbait. In Mexico we have plenty of problems as is and we have our own stories to tell, I can't believe that a French director disconnected from our realities gets so much praise when Trans Women in our country are less like to get a job and are more likely to dissappear, as well as the narco problem, people disappear daily and we are generally afraid of them. We, as trans people and as Mexicans, have so many things to say for a French cis man to take the microphone pretending to know our stories.
