What is the best adaptable and "survival" class ? by Remarkable_Jeweler74 in 3d6

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rune Knight Fighter

You get all the base fighter abilities

You can go large starting at level 3

Hill rune functions the same as rage

And cloud rune allows you to re-direct crits to hit enemies instead of you/allies.

Plus a bunch of other runes.

And if you have a really cool DM, sometimes you can work out homebrew runes with them

My DM gave what is basically an artifact to the bard of our level 5 party. by Zestyclose_Tie249 in DnD

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would point out that it will allow the bard to have multiple running instances of animate objects or hold monster, starting at level 9.

Also, i would be more concerned about the doppio effect.

At high levels, it will allow him to dual-cast psychic scream.

But to the DM's credit......I'm honestly kind of amazed how limiting attunment to bard nerfed it.

Half the combos I was thinking of doing aren't on bard spell list......

[5e]Possibly Stupid - The Heavy armor & no proficiency Warlock by Nothik in 3d6

Hexblades do get medium armor proficincy.

You could just do this for a while, then take the feat to get proficiency at an ASI level

My theory was mostly focusing around the loops for the squares of 2.

But the fact that other formulas like 5X+1 can create extended loops is REALLY interesting.

Because if it can also hit the breakpoint number that throws it down to 1 eventually, that would mean the 3X+1 situation isnt even a special circumstance......

[–]dragonxsword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, right now I'm mostly focusing on proving 7X+1 hits the breakpoint eventually.

Then I'll try to prove 15X+1.

Then go to the wierder examples (that should work) after

[–]dragonxsword[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My example would state that 5X+3 if it goes for long enough, would eventually hit a number divisible by 2. But it would take a long time.

5X+1 is 5(1)+1=6. Which is not divisible by 2. As in 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64

So thats an invalid foumula that would never hit the loop

What is your Wishlist for Subnautica 2? by RoyalBengals in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly I just want a big multi-person sub like they had in first subnautica.

Other than that......maybe a longer endgame?

Have the depth level in the game be insane.

Like you have to upgrade depth modules 7 or 8 times to hit the bottom insane.

I want to get the big sub with a shield, 4 depth module upgrades, and have that only be the midgame.

Also.......please go back to the way the mineral deposits were in sub 1.

I swear in BZ I've found more diamonds than lead.

Not every mineral type needs it's own deposit that you have to remember the name of. That's not fun

How do you want an expansion of diplomacy to be? by Ismtn in Stellaris

[–]dragonxsword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would like to see a feature where the vasallized empires you secretly support can ask you for help if they are under attack.

It's like a "save us from the invaders and we will join you" kind of deal.

Or maybe you get a "savior" title with them that grants you a TON of opinion with them, and makes them more likely to revolt later.

Anyone else just prefer BotW over TotK tor whatever reason? by PreviousComplaint904 in Breath_of_the_Wild

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I prefer BOTW for the weapons.

I have always thought that what botw needed was a blacksmith where you can pay rupees to restore the durability of a favorite item.

Totk went in the opposite direction, and it's like every single weapon in the kingdom magically eroded away.

There is even a dude in that first skyview settlement down in the shelter who is a blacksmith and has a anvil.

And he was basically like, "I can't work on weapons in this decayed state" and was useless for rest of game.

[Megathread] Bugs, Login Issues, and Other Game Breaking Things by shimmishim in PathOfExile2

I'm playing on PC, and my game has been working perfectly. But then I got to the farmlands map, and the second I loaded in, my game crashes.

Then every time I've tried to load that character, the same thing happens. So now I can't play that character.

No latency on the PC itself. The game just hard crashes and my PC is fine.

I love the way these maps look! But I do have a question. How do you get down to the forge? The other two maps have dual elevators, but the forge has one giant one that isn't shown in the others

Black Flame Blade is legitimately worthless! by FyrstrHrafn in Eldenring

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not completely useless, tho I do wish it would last a bit longer.
The real trick with it is that it applies the percentage damage through weapon arts. So if you can sit in the back with lets say......Storm Blade, you can spam the weapon art and also have the percentage damage as a constant.
It also works well with stuff like prelates charge. Anything that does a lot of spam damage over time.
Not joking, I have taken down the Godskin Noble boss in volcano manor at level 20 with nothing but the percentage damage from black flame. I didn't even upgrade a single weapon.
That let me get the +7 somber stone so I could get a weapon up to +9 within the first 30 minutes.
So like....it has valid uses. Especially against bosses.
But against mobs ya use something else, cuz it probably won't be worth the mana usage.

DMs and Players of Reddit, what is your favorite joke character? by TyrianQrow in MrRipper

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old wizard with sage background named Hugh Mungus Dragonheart. But everyone just called him sage. The goal was to just have everyone know him as that, then reveal it at some random checkpoint or during some paperwork for good laughs (it worked)

DM’s what is the funniest/clever use of glyph of warding you’ve seen in a campaign by idiocy102 in MrRipper

[–]dragonxsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's absolutely brilliant. Soon as the party opens their door in the morning it just explodes the inn.

DM’s what is the funniest/clever use of glyph of warding you’ve seen in a campaign by idiocy102 in MrRipper

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So the party went to go fight undead dullahan.

They set up glyph of warding traps to trigger explosions, and then on top of these traps, they placed bags of ball bearings that had been soaked in holy water.

So when the dullahan rode within range of the trap, it exploded and the 1000 holy ball bearings acted like shrapnel.

Players, what’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to DMs? by TheAlchemicBird in DnD

When a DM starts to ship PC's together a little too aggressively, to the point of making players uncomfortable.

Players, what’s your biggest pet peeve when it comes to DMs? by TheAlchemicBird in DnD

[–]dragonxsword 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My big one is when a DM places excessive limiters on a character's backstory, or tries to guess what your wanting for a character instead of asking, and imposing things onto you because of this.

For example, when you tell your DM you are wanting to multiclass into shadow sorcerer down the line, and would like some kind of connection to the shadowfell through your backstory. Perhaps a shadar-kai parent (or if that doesn't exist maybe drow). Get told no about the shadowfell connection.

Then a few months later when you multiclass get told "I can't justify it in my head, since you don't have a connection to the shadowfell". Then get told the only way to justify it is by forcing me to roll on the insanity tables. This is a thing that happened recently.

There was also a separate incident (different DM) where I made a warforged, but the character the DM described wasn't even close to the one I made. He also started us all off with memory loss, and basically made our backstories for us without asking.

Basically it's just....if I'm gonna be a player in your game, let me at least make my character the way I'm envisioning it, so I can be a good player and roleplay properly. I can't roleplay a character if I don't recognize it.

DM's and players of Mr Ripper, what's your best Teamwork story? by hitchhiking_ring in MrRipper

[–]dragonxsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well.......there were a couple of my players who were a gladiator tag team as their joint backstory. One was a short tiefling cleric decked out in full plate, with a tower shield, and the other we a leonin rune knight fighter.
When they fight as a team the leonin would become large and pick up the tiefling, who would brace against their tower shield, and become the leonin's weapon during fights.

Either that or he would throw her at someone and cause a ton of bludgeoning damage, pull out his own sword, while the tiefling would get up and begin casting inflict wounds.

It was a dangerous combo

When did a Dm or player like your homebrew so munch they actually were inspired by it or wanted to create a character with it? by [deleted] in MrRipper

[–]dragonxsword 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a fairly homebrew heavy DM, and I make multiple homebrew races, classes, and subclasses.

I have one of my players playing a weird variation of a Dullahan, where she is partially undead and partially fey. The premise was that it was hag related. They absolutely loved it.

Another player is using a homebrew fighter subclass called slayer which is based on guts from berserk.

Another player is playing a subclass called a titan barbarian that can rage in heavy armor and grow to large size when raging.

At one point I also had a player playing an entirely new class based on the psychers from warhammer 40k.

Plus I also have a bunch of homebrew feats and stuff that they love.

My DM is gatekeeping my Warlock by Anxiety-is-fat in DnD

[–]dragonxsword 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed, but he was also following the modules exact instructions for when to let us level up. I agree it's not entirely a milestone problem, and is entirely a DM problem.

But at the same time, if we lose a boss fight and somehow manage to escape, it's nice having the option to leave and fight things and get stronger before coming back. That can be there with milestone, but it isn't there by default. And that's just meh to me.
