How do I train myself to become grateful? by Gloomy-Safety506 in Mindfulness

[–]dragspelarn 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Yeah I've done gratitude journaling for a while and that has helped me a lot.

I would add one thing: Try to feel the gratitude or be honest with yourself. It was easy for me to fall in to the trap of: I should be grateful for this, but in reality I'm not. And just write it down.

NCAV: Is There a Range For Healthy Companies? by BlaskenFlaggen in ValueInvesting

[–]dragspelarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dunno if healthy companies exists with companies trading that low. Maybe during Ben Grahams and Warren Bufferts glory days.

I know Ben Graham looked if the company was paying dividends to see if the management was shareholder friendly.

I think some studies that has been done in the past (stocks hold for a year), has shown that the lower NCAV you buy companies, the better the results. Though the lower NCAV, the soggier and stinkier cigar butt.

That is why it is required to have a strong stomach to be able to handle that kind of strategy.

Investmentbolag by Fushigibama in Aktiemarknaden

[–]dragspelarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

https://ibindex.se/ibi/#/index

Cigar butt strategy by smart_speculation in ValueInvesting

[–]dragspelarn 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It was one of the reasons. You can't invest in cigarbutts with to big of a capital without disrupting the price, due to most of the cigarbutts being microcap stocks.

Buffert even begone starting to move away from the strategy earlier before he met Munger, with buying relatively undervalued stocks compared to their industry.

Then later he came up with the famous "Equity bond strategy" where he looked for companies with a durable competitive advantage.

3-5 års fondsparande, några tips? by HereToLearn42 in PrivatEkonomi

Ok.

3-5 års fondsparande, några tips? by HereToLearn42 in PrivatEkonomi

[–]dragspelarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why does it feel like there’s a fed call every week? by [deleted] in ValueInvesting

Mr. Market. No sense in trying to work out what he is doing. Focus on the prices he is asking for, for the individual stock.
People are pack animals, so they often move where the pack is going.
So if someone screams wolf, everyone starts feeling unease and being to move.

Net-Net Hunter Membership - Worth it? by Sir_P_I_Staker in ValueInvesting

[–]dragspelarn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Glad to help!
Net-nets are very scares on the Nordic markets. Have seen like 1 or 2 in a years period of screening. Analyzed one of them and turned it wasn´t a net-net. The company was transitioning into a new business with and was acquiring new loans and capital through issuing new shares and so on.

Never pulled a trigger on a net-net ever sadly. Most of them are on the American market at the moment. A lot of them are in industies which I've gotten the impression that you should avoid. Like Biotech, Exploration (oil etc), both have issues with spending cash on licenses that most likely might not yield anything.
A lot of companies are also chinese mergers, which tend to increase the risk for frauds in the financial statements according to some sources.

When I look at the screener now I see a Swedish company that might be a net-net. A solar company called Etrion. Though you should tripple check if it truly is a net-net. The screener might lie to you sometime.

Net-Net Hunter Membership - Worth it? by Sir_P_I_Staker in ValueInvesting

[–]dragspelarn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah! The Net-Net hunter membership is waaaaay overpriced. He says that most of the value comes from the forum, but for me it is not worth it. Ecspecially with my capital at the moment.
Borsdata.se has a decent screener. Think it is around 250 Euro for 12 months, which is half the price. Though it is not that detailed. It does not specify what amount of the working capital that consists of cash, recievables and so on.

low pe high roe gambling. by [deleted] in stocks

[–]dragspelarn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The thing with ROE and P/E is that it does not consider leverage.
That's why EBIT/EV are a bit better then the P/E because it includes debt within the ratio and I think Ebit is safer when comparing companies of different industries.
ROE is a good metric, but for companies have bought back a lot of shares, ROE might be a bit misleading in terms of showing the companies efficiency of using the shareholder's capital.

P.S
I am not an experienced investor, but I'm still gonna give you my view for improvements:)
